Motorcycle gardening winch. The present invention relates to a gardening motorized winch.
The winch according to the present invention is mounted, with the motor which drives it, on a frame mounted on wheels in the manner of a wheelbarrow, the winch and the motor being arranged at the lower part of the frame, so that the center of gravity is as low as possible and the cable coming to the winch passing over return pulleys, the first of these coming from the plow or other actuating tool being in a vertical plane, at the bottom of the frame, so that the cable can follow any inclination of the ground and pass under the leaves of the plants without damaging them.
The advantages and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description which will be given thereof: with reference to the appended drawing which represents, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
On this drawing: FIG. 1 is a side elevational view of an apparatus according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a plan view; Fig. 3 is an end view, looking in the direction of arrow A, FIG. 1; Fig. 4 is. an end view looking in the direction of arrow B, fig. 1; Figs. 5, 6 and 7 represent details.
The various parts of the device are mounted on a frame 1 in metal frame, mounted on feet 2 and extended at the front by a kind of platform 3. Under this platform 3 are mounted two wheels, and the other end the frame 1 is provided with two arms 5 terminated by handles 6, which makes it possible, by lifting the device by these handles 6, to make it bear only on the wheels 4 and to move it easily in the fa lesson from a wheelbarrow.
The wheels 4 are preferably mounted inside the frame of the platform 3, so as to reduce the wheelbase and to allow the apparatus to be passed through narrow aisles.
On the platform \ '3 is. fixed an electric motor 7 on the shaft of which is mounted a pulley 8, preferably a pulley with automatic clutch by centrifugal force of a known type, so that this pulley is only driven when the motor has reaches a certain speed; it follows that the engine. always starts empty, which means that the start-up rheostat is not used.
In addition, in this type of pulley, the clutch being effected by friction, it serves at the same time as a limiter: forces, because there is slippage when the resistive torque is too high.
On the platform: e 3 is also fixed a speed reducer 9 whose attack shaft 10 is an extension of the shaft of the motor 7, a clutch plate Il mounted on the shaft 10 and .solidaire in rotation, can slide on this shaft. It carries laterally -two tenons 12 coming: to fit into .of the corresponding recesses of the pulley 8, so as to make this plate 11 independent of the pulley 8 .and allow the drive of the speed reducer by engine.
By separating these parts, the motor can be used for any other purpose, for example to actuate a pump by means of a belt passing over the pulley 8. This pump could even be permanently attached to the frame of: the apparatus .
The speed reducer can be of any known type. The one which has been judged to be the best has, as shown in the drawing, three gear ratios, so as to reduce, in appreciable proportions, the speed: of rotation of the engine to that of traction of the machine to be actuated: plow or other . The shafts of these three reductions 13, 14 and 15 extend beyond the casing. Of the speed reducer, so as to allow them to be used to actuate other devices, by choosing the speed which best suits each one. 'between them.
The last demul- tip: lication is preferably at two speeds, so as to obtain the traction winch which will be discussed below, two different speeds @. This is obtained in the way: known by means: of a slide l4a sliding on the shaft 14 and bearing, two pinions of different diameter 16 and 17 meshing one or the other with the toothed wheels 18 and 19 respectively, wheels: wedged on the shaft l5.
The bala deur 14a moves from the outside of the housing by means of a protruding rod 14 ', which a pin immobilizes in one or the other -two correct positions engaging 17 and 18 or 16 and 19.
On the shaft 15 is mounted crazy the drum 20 of the winch. It can be made integral with this .arbre by means -d'un claw clutch consisting of a collar 21 carrying the claws, driven. In rotation by the shaft 15, but smoothing. On it,: so that .its claws engage with: other complementary claws carried by drum 20.
From the drum 20 on which the traction cable 22 is wound, the latter passes over a grooved pulley 23: arranged in the vertical median plane of the drum 20. This grooved pulley 23 can move longitudinally in this plan thanks to the fact that it is mounted in a carriage 24 which slides along a slide 25: arranged at the upper part of the frame. This slide carries -on either side of the teeth td: e saw 26 (fig. 7) with which the cleats 27 'come into engagement, voting at 28, on the carriage 24.
The: carriage 2.1 also carries a handle 29 pivoting at 30. On the carriage 24. By pulling the carriage to the right (fig. 2), the cleats move apart each time: tooth and fall beyond, this under the action of their own weight aided if necessary by springs 31. The carriage is thus immobilized: against any movement to the left which could occur: due to the traction exerted on the cable by the drum 20.
We move the cart by hand in this direction; by pressing on the handle 29, the end of which pores on the tails of the cleats 27 and causes the latter to tilt,. which, being then raised, allow free movement to the left of the carriage 24 on the slide 25. Of the pulley 23, the cable 22 pasAe on a second groove pulley 32 .disposed in a vertical plane. perpendicular to that of the pulley 23, the cable thus exits perpendicularly to the apparatus and can take any desired inclination in the vertical plane of the pulley 32, allowing the traction of the chariot or other along an inclined plane , whatever the inclination.
The pulley 32 is carried by a frame 3 3 which slides in a slide 34. The frame 33 is secured: to the carriage 24 by means of one or more bars 35, so that the cable 22 always passes vertically. from pulley 23 to pulley 32. We see; that by moving all of the pulleys 23 and 32 on the frame, it is possible to change the point where the traction takes place - and thus dig with a plow, for example, several parallel furrows without having to move the whole apparatus.
Remote control & operation and: of stopping the winch are carried out using the following components: At the upper part of the frame 1 (fig. 3-) is the inter current breaker 36 to the motor 7. This switch is controlled by -means of the crank 37, the end of which is taken in a hook 38 pivoting at 39 on the frame 1. This hook 38 is connected by a connecting rod 40 to an angled lever 41 pivoting at 42 on the frame 1. The small arm 43 of the lever 41 penetrates into the 'groove of. necklace 21.
The lever 41 is cut at 44 along a bias section, the two sections thus -constituted being articulated one on the other at 45. Two return springs 46 and 46 'fixed on the one hand to the frame 1 and, d 'on the other hand, -in sections of. .levier 41, call these two sections to the left (fig. 3).
At the upper part of the lever 41., at 47, is attached .the control cable 48 which can be carried by the plow -or other, by means of an automatic reel, so that this -cable does not have a slack - and does not drag - on the ground, without - however, that the traction exerted is sufficient lice to move - the lever 41.
If we - suppose that in - fig. 3, the components are in the -on position, that is to say -that the switch gives the current and that the collar 21 -is in engagement with the drum 20, if one pulls on cable 48, the lever 41 is rotated around 42, the arm 43 pushes the collar 21 to the left, which causes the clutch to be released.
At the same time, the lever 41 pulls on the connecting rod 40 which raises the hook 38, which turns the handle of the switch, which cuts off the current: Finally, the lever 41 drives by means of a spring 41 'another lever 41a which. carries a brake pad 41 >> which comes to rest against the flange of the drum 20, so as to stop immediately. the movement that the latter would continue to have due to the inertia of the various rotating members after breaking the current.
In order to immobilize the lever 41 in this stop position despite the return action of the springs 46 and 46 ', there is mounted -on the lever a latch 49 pushed upwards by a spring-, comes out 50 and which, when lever 41 is. pulled by the cable 48, comes to carry: against an inclined plane 51 carried by the frame 1, the latch 49 of the ashes by pushing back the spring 50, then is pushed back by .this into the notch 52. It mobilizes then with it the lever 41. which i1 is integral, and the mechanism remains at rest.
To restart, we pull 'more on the cable 48, the lever 41 moves even more to the right (fig. 3 and 5) and with it the latch 49 which bears on the inclined plane 53, pushing the lever even further back. spring 5 (1. There comes a time when the pivoting finger 54 had 54 'and pulled by the spring 55 falls on the shoulder 56 presented by the latch 49, thus mobilizing the latter. By releasing the cable 48, .le lever 41 is returned by spring 46, the latch held in the low position by finger 54 passes beyond notch 52 and lever 41 can return to the starting position.
At this moment, the extension 57 @ of the finger 54 comes to bear against a stop 57 'carried by the frame 1, the finger escapes from the shoulder 56, the latch 49 re pushed by the spring 50 returns in the starting position, ready to operate again. In its return movement, the lever 41 has pushed the connecting rod 40 - and with it the hook 38 which pushes the lever and the switch back into the on position, which starts the engine again. At the same time, the lever 43 tends to re-engage the clutch 20-21.
However, it is possible, and this is the case most of the time, that the claws of one of these parts are not rigorously thick opposite the corresponding notches. The lever 41, if it were fixed, could not come back completely and in particular could not return the handle 37 of the switch to start the engine. This is however possible thanks to the break 44. The upper part of the lever 41 returns completely to actuate the switch, while the lower part is not completely brought back.
When the engine begins to turn and, with it, the collar 21, the action of the spring 46 'causes the clutch to engage as soon as the claws of one of the members have come opposite the recesses of the other. It can be seen that, in this way, the apparatus is started and stopped at a distance by the person who guides the plow or other machine, without there being any need for anyone near the apparatus, which makes it possible to operate it with the minimum of expenses.
It should be noted that the shape of the hook 38 is such that when the lever 41 is immobilized in the stop position (you are not 49 in the notch 52), the lever 37 can be operated by hand, which is. useful for starting the engine for other uses, than the winch control. To prevent the device from being damaged when the plow arrives against it, if the person driving it does not perform the necessary maneuvers sufficiently early, an automatic shut-off device is provided.
This is constituted by a fork 58 -en- framing the cable 22 in front of the pulley 32. This fork slides on a square shaft 59 parallel to the slide 34. The fork 58 is driven by the mount 33,: so to be always in front of the pulley 32. The shaft: square 59 pivots .on the frame and carries at its end on the side of the lever 41 an arm 60. When the plow arrives against the fork 58, it pushes back the one. here, which makes pi vote the shaft 59 and with it the arm 60 in a counterclockwise direction (fig. 4).
This arm 60 by means of the connecting rod 61, slides the part 62 (FIGS. 2 and 4) on the frame, which carries a projection 62 'which hooks the lever 41 and. drives it to the: right (fig. 3), so as to cause the same movements as when pulling on cable 48, that is to say disengaging the winch and stopping the engine.
The action of the device against the fork 58 can be effected by the intercalation of a spiral spring threaded on the cable, so as to avoid sudden shocks.
The fork 58 carries a part 58 'which comes to bear against the frame 33, so as to limit the travel of the fork 58 and -de all the parts which it drives in its movement. As soon as the disengagement and interruption of current have taken place.
It should be noted in this regard that the plow can penetrate to the inside of the device, the frame not bearing on this side a lower spar. We can thus come and work right up against the device without losing any ground.
In order to anchor the device in the ground and prevent this device from moving when the plow meets too high a resistance, one (or more) spade 63 pivoting at 64 is provided on the frame. This spade is suspended from a cable 65 winding on a pulley 66 that a crank 67 allows to turn to raise or lower the spade. A spade is preferably provided at each end of the device, the two corresponding lice 66 being wedged. On a common axis actuated by a plain crank 67.
By: giving slack to the cable 65, the spade 63 is lowered -on the ground, and under the action of the traction of the cable, anchors itself therein, preventing any subsequent movement of the apparatus in the direction of traction, of the cable.
Due to the fact that the spade is connected to the frame located at point 64 which is placed very low, the resultant forces: traction of the cable, resistance of the spade and weight of the device (the first two being: substantially parallel - and close to the horizontal) passes under the point of application of the spade 63 on the ground and this without it being necessary for the weight of the device to be very high, unlike what occurs in existing type devices, where the weight of the device is very high to resist the traction of the cable; the apparatus according to the invention is therefore, as a result, much more manageable.
As can be seen from what precedes; the apparatus pulls the work machine, such as a plow, only in one of its own, that is to say, it pulls the work machine towards the machine. When the machine has arrived in the vicinity of the apparatus, it must be moved back by hand to the other end of the field to be worked. Since the apparatus in question is particularly intended, as has been said above, for gardening work in which the ground to be worked is generally not very wide, this method of proceeding does not present any inconvenience.
However, it may happen that we have to work on very wide terrains and consequently have to move the machine over a great length. It may be advantageous, in this case, to work with. the device, in both directions, that is to say to pull the work machine both towards the device and away from it. It is possible to equip the device so that it works in this way.
In this case, instead of the winch drum winding the eble -de traction, is mounted on the drum a grooved pulley 68 consisting of two halves which are. Nested on either side of the drum, and .on. pass the cable over this pulley with one dead turn, so as to give more grip. In addition, a second carriage 24 'also comprising a pulley 23' is mounted on the frame of the apparatus, .dans slide 25.
The two carriages 24 and 24 'are attached to each other, so that they can move simultaneously. The carriage 24 'therefore does not need to be fitted with tabs 27. Likewise, at the lower part, in the slide 34, a second carriage 33' comprising a 32 'pulley. The plow or other gin is attached to one end of the cable and the other end of this cable 22, after passing over the return pulley attached to the other end of the field, is attached to the other. end of the plow.
The winch turning in one direction pulls the plow to the end of the field; at this point, all you have to do is turn the plow over and change the attachment: the two ends of the cable so that the winch then pulls it in the other direction.
To ensure the perfect tension .du cable, so as to ensure the drive by the pulley mounted on the winch, it is provided at any point, for example on the road cart, a cable tensioning device.
With this device, preferably a reversible motor is employed, -so as to be able to directly reverse the direction of rotation of the motor and, consequently, of all the rotating members that it controls. When the machine has arrived at the extremity of the field furthest from the device, the following device is used: A .côté lever 41 is mounted another lever 69 also pivoting on the frame of the machine. This lever 69 is connected to the lever 41 by means of a powerful spring 70; the control cable 48 is coupled to the lever 69.
When the cable 48 is pulled in the direction of the arrow (fig. 6), the lever 69 in its movement drags the lever 41 which works in the same way as that which has been indicated above. On the lever 69 is. coupled in addition, a cable 71, which, after passing .on a pulley -de deflection 72, passes through an eye 73 attached to the end of the reversing lever -of the engine.
At the end, and beyond this # i1, this cable has a weight 74 -of dimensions large enough not to pass through the eye 73. When you have pulled on the cable 48 and that, as we have just said, the lever 41 has been completely reversed to the right, this lever 41 can no longer advance and a new traction exerted on the lever 69a only for the purpose of tensioning the spring 70.
Mass, during this movement, the traction exerted on the cable 71 causes that the weight 74, the position of which on the cable 71 has been adjusted for this purpose, comes to lift 1 '# i1 73 carried by the reversing lever of the engine, and, consequently, reverses the course of this engine. By then letting the cable 48 return, the lever 69 returns first to the lever 41 under the action of the spring 70, then this lever 41 itself moves to the left, in the way which has been described. higher, to restart the motor which then turns in the other direction.
When it has been started in this way, at the other end of the field, the motor drives the machine in the direction of the machine, and when it has returned to the vicinity of the machine, the person who runs it can. then overturn itself by hand, meaning. reversible motor running, by lowering # 21 73, which is possible since, at this moment, weight 74 is in a position which does not hinder its movement.
As mentioned above, the device can be used for other uses than for gardening: as a motor pump, or to actuate other machines. In particular, it can be used as a freight elevator by using the winch and the cable. for lifting. A brake 11 'actuated by hand or foot and applied to the clutch plate 11, for example, allows the stopping of the .charge raised to the desired height or the slow descent of this .charge.
From the foregoing description, it can be seen that the apparatus forming the object of the invention has a large number of advantages which have already been indicated during the description, advantages which we summarize below - below: The center of gravity is very low and all the weight of the motor components is in front of the device on the wheels, which greatly facilitates movement. The carrying wheels are, on the other hand, arranged inside -de the apparatus, so as to significantly reduce the track gauge, and the apparatus can therefore move in very narrow paths. .
Finally, the anchoring of the device is done so, automatically by means of the .or ganes that it carries, without it being necessary to make -external moorings.
On the other hand, the plow or other working device can come into the device. It can therefore work absolutely up to the end of a platform, right up against the path on which the device has moved @ and has been put into working position.
In addition, the apparatus can work on all terrains, whatever the inclination, and it is possible to work on a certain width of land, without having to move the apparatus.
The device can be remotely controlled by the man who operates the plow or other work machine, therefore without the need to have a man near the device. 'All the work can be done with one man.
In addition, the traction cable of the machine passes very low, almost to the rat, of the ground and, consequently, it passes under the leaves of the plants which may be on the ground and without damaging these plants.
As far as the device itself is concerned, the clutch of the engine, with all the components it controls, is done by means of an automatic centrifugal coupling which allows a progressive starting and at the same time serves as a limiter: effort. With this -device, there is no need to have a starting rheostat, nor. To have a: circuit breaker, which considerably simplifies the construction and makes it possible to have a very low cost price.
The gearbox, as designed, allows a number of other drives to be fitted to it at varying speeds, depending on the intermediate shaft which is used. Finally, the winch is released by means of a claw clutch: - The device can be used, either by pulling the working machine .in one. Direction only, or by pulling it in the two directions and not only the clutch of the winch and the engine switch can be controlled remotely, but it is also possible to remotely reverse the direction:
engine operation, these three operations being done by means of a single control cable carried by the machine.
It is understood that the device has been shown and described above only by way of explanation, but not limitation, and that it may include variants and modifications of detail, without departing from the spirit of invention.
