Treuil.
Cette came 5,6 coulisse (fig.
Winch. The present invention relates to a winch driven by a motor and in which the movement of the motor shaft is transmitted to the drum on which the cable is wound, by means of an elastic clutch, making it possible to perform, without harmful forces for the winch, the clutch and the clutch; even when a heavy load acts on the drum.
0 \ n already know winches whose motor shaft is driven by a motor, for example electric, but they are still very bulky and expensive machines. On the other hand, such machines are generally provided with equally costly and bulky clutch devices, when the drive is not done by a belt of an idler pulley on a pulley fixed to the control shaft of the idler. winch drum or intermediate shaft. In the latter case, one also arrives at complicated and cumbersome installations because of the distance which is necessary between the shafts, so that the belts have sufficient grip on the pulleys.
The object of the present invention is a winch of relatively large capacity, small footprint and inexpensive installation.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an installation of a winch tiné to enable a boat placed on a trolley to be taken out of the water.
Fig. 1 is a front view of the winch frozen to a wall and covered with its housing; Fig. 2 shows it with the casing removed; Fig. 3 is a side view in the direction of the arrow X with the side wall removed; Figs. 4 to 8 show details of the clutch and its control; Figs. 9 and 10 are details of other parts; Figs. 11 and 12 show the whole installation; Fig. 1S is a detail view.
With reference to fig. 1 to 3, the winch com carries a frame 20 intended to be, for example, fixed against a wall. This frame comprises a 2: 1 support on which is mounted an electric motor 22, the shaft of which carries a toothed wheel 23, over which passes a chain 24 driving a 2: 5 toothed wheel mounted on the part 26 of the frame. an auxiliary shaft in two parts carrying an elastic clutch device described below.
This part 26 of the auxiliary shaft rotates, on the one hand, in a bearing 28 fixed to the frame 20 of the winch and it has at its opposite end a journal 29 (fig. 5) entering a corresponding housing of the part 27 of the rotating shaft, on the other hand, also in a bearing 30 of the frame.
Part 27 of the auxiliary shaft carries a pinion 31 meshing with a toothed wheel 32 integral with the drum 33 of the winch on which the cable is wound. This Drum '33. rotates freely on a fixed axis 34 of the frame. At its end opposite to the wheel 32, the drum has toothing at. ratchet .35, in which the pawls 36 of a brake drum M also freely rotating on the shaft 34 engage.
The arrangement is such that when the drum 33 is actuated for winding the cable, the brake drum 37 does not rotate and the pawls 36 slide on the ratchet teeth 35, while when the drum 3'3 rotates. by unwinding the cable, the brake drum 37 is driven by the pawls .36 and slows down the movement of the drum 3'3 thanks to a brake tape 3.8 surrounding it and subjected to the action of a counterweight .
As seen in Figs. 2, 3, 9 and 10, the tape 38 is fixed by one of its ends to a support 39 integral with the frame, while its other end is fixed to a lever 40 also articulated on the support 39 and forming a counterweight. If the weight of the lever 40 itself is not sufficient, a sliding weight can be provided thereon, which can be moved along the part 41, which makes it possible to adjust the braking force.
The plastic clutch device of the two parts 26, and 27 of the auxiliary shaft, as well as its control are shown in fig. 4 to 8.
On the end of the part 26 carrying the journal 29 is keyed a sleeve 42 provided with a flange 43 having a notch 44. On this sleeve freely rotates a disk 45 bearing on one side a finger 46 and on the other two. clearances 47 in the form of sectors. Between the flange 43 and the disc 45, the sleeve 42 carries a coil shock absorber 48, one end of which is fixed to the flange 43 and the other rests against the finger 46, the arrangement being such that when the coupling works, the finger 46 tends to tension the spring 48, this tension being however limited by the end of the notch 44 against which the finger 46 abuts as shown in FIG. 6.
The end of the part 27 of the auxiliary shaft, in which the journal 29 rotates carries a toothing 49 on which can slide a bush 50 provided with a circular groove 51 and a flange 52 carrying two projections 5.3 in The form of sectors constitute claws, intended to engage in the clearances 47 of the disc 45. The arc of the sectors 53 is notably less than that of the clearances 47, so that there is a large clearance between these parts.
The surfaces of the sectors 5.3 intended to come into contact with the corresponding ones of clearances 47 are parallel to the axis of rotation of the auxiliary shaft, in order to prevent slipping which could cause accidental disengagement.
In the groove 51 engages the end of an arm 54 integral with a sliding shaft 55 controlled by a cam 56 of the end of a pivoting control lever 57. This cam 5.6 slides (fig. 8). ) between two projections 5.8 of the shaft 55 and causes the longitudinal displacements of the latter for the purpose of engaging or disengaging the two parts of the auxiliary shaft 26-27.
The entire winch is covered by a housing 60, from which only the ends of the levers 41 for controlling the brake and 57 for controlling the clutch protrude. The end of the portion 27 of the auxiliary shaft opposite to the clutch device is square and protrudes outside the housing, to allow the operation of the winch by the crank in the event of engine failure.
The operation of the winch is easily understood, in particular with reference to FIGS. 11 to. 1.3 showing a complete installation.
The winch is, in this case, designed to pull out of the water a cart carrying a boat. The carriage 61 carrying the boat 62 moves on an inclined track 63, so that the cable 64 to which it is attached is always stretched. In other words, there is always a load at the end of the cable. This is the reason why it was necessary to create a simple, robust and space-saving clutch device between the two parts of the auxiliary shaft 26-27, however allowing them to be engaged and disengaged under load, without harmful forces are produced to divert them to its parts of the winch or to the carriage carrying the boat.
If it is a question of pulling the boat 62 brought on the carriage 61 out of the water, the motor 22 is first started by means of the switch 65. The lever 57 is then actuated, so that the cam 56 moves the shaft 55 to the left (fig. 2), so that the claws .53 of the sleeve 50 enter the recesses 47 of the disc 45. The finger 46 which is at this moment in the position indicated in mixed lines (fig. 6) stretches in pro portion of the load, until the moment when the drive of part 27 of the auxiliary shaft can take place or at most until the finger touches the end of the notch 44 forming a stop.
Thanks to the clearance existing between the projections 53 and the clearances 47 as well as to the elasticity. of the spring 48, the coupling takes place without difficulty and without appreciable or harmful jerks. The cable 64 then winds around the drum 33, while the brake drum 37 remains stationary, its pawls sliding on the teeth 3.5 of the drum 3! 3. When the carriage 61 arrives at its destination, it lowers by one of its wheels a lever 66 articulated on one of the rails (fig. 13) and connected by a cable 67 to the switch 65, so as to open the latter, thus stopping the motor. 2.2.
At this moment, any return movement of the carriage is prevented by the brake drum 47, because as it unwinds the cable 64 causes the pawls 36 to snap into the ratchet teeth 35 of the drum 33 and thereby the drive. of the drum 37. As the latter is subjected to the action of the brake band tensioned either by the weight of the lever 40 or by a suitably adjusted counterweight, it cannot rotate.
To allow the descent of the carriage 6 1 on its inclined plane, the lever 40 is slightly raised or the counterweight is moved slightly on its part 41, so as to obtain a slow descent. 1I is understood that the different parts of the winch and in particular of its positive clutch device may be different from those shown in the drawing, without departing from the scope of the invention.
