La fig. 1 est une vue en élévation avec coupe et arrachement partiels d'un extracteur de roulement construit conformément à l'in vention; La fig. 2 est une vue en perspective, avec coupe partielle, du dispositif de solidarisa- tion constitué par le corps pyramidal et les coussinets; La fig. 3 est une vue en perspective de l'un des pieds du même appareil; La fig. 4 montre en élévation et à plus petite échelle de quelle manière on peut pro céder à l'extraction de roulements extérieurs;
La fig. 5. est une vue en coupe par V-V de'la fig. 4.
Il est bien entendu que l'appareil extrac teur de roulements qui vient d'être décrit. et qui est montré sur le dessin annexé, n'a été cité qu'à titre d'exemple d'application de l'in vention et que des modifications portant sur les formes, les dimensions et le nombre des différents organes qui entrent en jeu pour ront y être apportées sans que ces modifica tions portent atteinte aux caractéristiques de l'invention;
Device for extracting ball or roller bearings. The present invention relates to an apparatus for the extraction of faulty bearings or. rolls of the parts on which i15 are mounted.
This apparatus is characterized in that it comprises a threaded rod over at least part of its length, at least one (nut arranged on this rod, a part intended to support the nut, respectively. to the nuts and having, on the one hand, a central hole freely traversed by the threaded rod and, on the other hand, feet with adjustable position on it, which are intended to come to support and act, by one of their faces , on a part outside the inner ring of the bearing to be extracted, while one of the ends of the.
threaded rod has means intended to act in the opposite direction to the feet, on a part inside the outer ring of said bearing, when the nut, respectively one of the nuts, is brought against the drilled part and that, in turning this nut produces a relative displacement, parallel and in the opposite direction, of the rod and the feet, which produces an axial movement of the bearing with respect to the part on which it is mounted and, consequently, the release of the first from the second.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view with partial section and cut away of a bearing extractor constructed in accordance with the invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective view, with partial section, of the securing device constituted by the pyramidal body and the pads; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one of the feet of the same device; Fig. 4 shows in elevation and on a smaller scale how the extraction of outer bearings can be carried out;
Fig. 5. is a sectional view through V-V de'la fig. 4. As can be seen in the drawing and in particular in FIGS. 1 and 2, the apparatus comprises a central screw 1, the diameter and pitch of which can be any. This screw comprises, in the example shown, two parts of different diameters; at its end 2, it has a small length of a left-hand thread of smaller diameter on which a pyramidal body 3 can engage.
On screw 1 can move a lower nut 4 and an upper nut 5; between these two nuts is mounted a part 6 carrying a central hole of a diameter such that this part can move freely lengthwise on the screw 1.
The nut 4 has on its underside a conical cavity 7 in which are tines to engage the upper parts of the bearings which will be discussed below; in this nut are drilled radially holes 8 which allow its tightening by means of any suitable key.
On the nut 5 are mounted removable handles 9 which can be mounted in the manner shown in the drawing, when there is sufficient space for the operation of the device, but we could also mount on one side, when the space available is not sufficient to allow a diametral assembly.
The part 6 carries on its lower face radial grooves 10, the section of which can be any and which are intended to receive and. hold the sliders of the feet 11 (fig. 3).
The feet 11 consist of a column, which can be of any suitable shape and size, secured at one of its ends with a slider 12 and the other end 13 of which is suitably shaped to present a surface of sufficient support on the part from which we want to extract the bearing when the latter is housed in a blind hole of this part; it will be noted that the columns are fixed to one of the ends of the slides so as to allow, by engagement of said slides, in one direction or the other, in the grooves 10, a greater or lesser approximation or distance of the axis of the device.
In the inner cavity of the bearing, there are housed bearings 14 whose cylindrical outer surface can be applied exactly on the inner wall of the cavity of the bearing; these bearings 14 carry, at their lower part, outer shoulders 1.5 of circular contour and which can be applied in the manner which is shown in FIG. 1 under the inner race of the bearing.
The inner surface of the pads 14 which is generally cylindrical has at its lower part V notches 16 cut obliquely, this obliqueness being such that when the pads are mounted on the pyramidal body 3, the two faces of the dihedral that it forms are applied exactly on two adjacent faces of the trunk of the pyramid.
The number of bearings 14 corresponds to the number of ridges of pyramidal body 3 and when this body is engaged at the bottom of the blind hole in which the bearing is housed, said bearings can be mounted on it with a certain play, so that the shoulders 15 can engage under the inner race of the bearing.
The outer surface of the bearings is cylindrical and substantially the same radius as the inner circle of the bearing.
The upper part of the bearings 14 is preferably slightly conical on the outside and it can be received in the conical cavity 7 formed in the nut 4; on the other hand, each of the pads can carry lugs 17 on the outside which, during assembly and to keep the pads in position, can be placed in a groove of corresponding shape made in a ring 18.
The apparatus works as follows: The body 3 in the form of a pyra mid trunk being mounted at the end of the screw t on the left-hand thread 2 and the feet 11 being previously removed from the apparatus, we present the apparatus in front of the bearing to be extracted, in such a way that the body 3 is placed at the bottom and in the center of the internal cavity of the bearing.
The large base of the body 3 is intended to come to rest on the bottom of the blind hole in which the bearing is housed; this being done, we have the sinet necks 14 around the body 3, so that the notches 16 engage on the edges of the pyramid and we put in place the ring 18 that had previously been threaded on the screw au- underside of nut 4.
The nut 4 is then tightened, the cavity 7 of which covers the upper ends of the bearings 14 and this tightening is continued until, as a result of its longitudinal displacement, the pyramidal body 3, by separating the bearings, has carried out the hooking of the shoulders 15 behind the inner ring and the clamping of the outer faces of these sinet necks against the wall of the inner cavity of the bearing; the bearing is then firmly held by the bearings. The feet 11 are then mounted on the part 6 by engaging the slides 12 in the grooves 10, either in one direction or the other, depending on the outer diameter of the bearing and the bases 13 (the feet 11 are arranged around said bearing on the surface of the part in which the blind hole is made.
Finally, the nut 5 is acted upon by means of the handles 9, in the appropriate direction so that the nut bearing on the upper face of the part 6 causes by clamping a longitudinal displacement of the screw 1, displacement (causes it the extraction of the bearing made integral with the screw by the bearings 14 and the nut 4.
When we want to extract an external bearing with the same device, we proceed as follows (fig. 4 and 5): we go up to. the end of the screw 1, instead of a pyramidal body, a conical needle 19 whose point is placed in the axis hole of the shaft 20 on which the bearing is mounted. The feet 11 are mounted on part 6 in the manner which was previously indicated, but the bases 13 of these feet are engaged at. correct spacing behind the outer race of the bearing; the extraction of said bearing is caused by tightening the nut 4 against the underside of the. part 6.
It is understood that the bearing extractor apparatus which has just been described. and which is shown in the accompanying drawing, has been cited only as an example of application of the invention and only modifications relating to the shapes, dimensions and number of the various components which come into play can be made to them without these modifications affecting the characteristics of the invention;
it is thus that the pyramidal body may have any square or polygonal section, the number of pads corresponding to the number of oblique edges of said body, that the removable feet, which will be at least three, may be in greater number , that the shape of their slides could be as shown in the drawing, but that it could also have any section whatsoever corresponding to the section of the notches made in part 6 and that finally the bases said feet may be circular or polygonal, the choice of these special shapes or of the number of parts entering into the constitution of the apparatus depending solely on the applications which one will have in view.
