Description
Solche Eigenschaften werden insbe sondere beim Schmälzen der ssolifasern, bezw. beim Schlichten der Garne vor dem Weben und endlich in der Appretur der fertigen Gewebe angestrebt. Die Erzielung eines guten Weichheitseffektes ist gleichermassen :richtig für Wolle, Baumwolle, Seide und Kunst seide, ganz besonders aber bei letzterer;
Mixture suitable as softening and smoothing agent and the like. The invention relates to a new, suitable as a plasticizer, smoothing agent and the like, durable mixture, in particular for textile purposes, characterized in that it contains at least one alcohol corresponding to the high molecular weight aliphatic carboxylic acids and a dispersing agent.
It has been found that the higher aliphatic alcohols, such as, for example, the alcohols of the type C121.260, C1611840, C1sHssO and CisllscO, have the property of making textile fibers soft and pliable in particular. For this purpose, the fibers can with the mixture according to the invention, which contains the alcohols and a dispersant, e.g. B. with a mixture containing the alcohol in any organic solvent, such as halogenated hydrocarbons or hydrocarbons, e.g. B.
Petrol, turpentine, pyridine, dissolved or containing as aqueous emulsions, are treated. The known dispersants, such as soaps, and sulfonated organic compounds, e.g. B. aromatic sulfonic acids, sulfurized oils and similar use. After removal of the solvent and dispersant, the treated fibers show extraordinary smoothness and suppleness and are odorless and not water-sensitive.
Such properties are in particular special when melting the ssoli fibers, respectively. when sizing the yarns before weaving and finally in the finishing of the finished fabric. Achieving a good softness effect is equally: correct for wool, cotton, silk and artificial silk, but especially for the latter;
Mixtures according to the invention containing the alcohols of the higher fatty acids give particularly good effects in the softening and seliliclites of rayon.
Except in the textile and leather industry, the mixture according to the invention can be used as a preparation for impregnations of all kinds, where the softness and smoothness of the treated objects are important, as an additive to shoe polish and floor wax.
The mixture is also valuable as an additive to pigment colors, as well as to preparations for processing and surface treatment of metal.
