Abstract
317,468. B÷hme Akt.-Ges., H. T. Aug. 18, 1928, [Convention date]. Fibres, batching etc.; yarns, treating with liquids.-In processes for softening, &c. textile fibres the materials are treated with agents comprising alcohols corresponding with the higher fatty acids such as oleio and stearic alcohols. In treating fibres the alcohols may be dissolved in an organic solvent such as benzine, turpentine, pyridine or may be used as aqueous emulsions produced with agents such as sulpho-acids, sulphonated oils, &c. Processes referred to in which the substances are useful are the greasing or fatting of crude fibres, the sizing of yarns before weaving and the dressing of finished fabrics; the materials so treated may be wool, cotton, silk, and especially artificial silk. Specifications 272,919; and 307,472, [Class 81 (i), Disinfecting &c. J, are referred to.
