  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Gemisches zweier     isomerer    aromatischer     Ringketone.       Gegenstand dieser Erfindung ist ein Ver  fahren zur Darstellung eines Gemisches  zweier aromatischer     Ringketone    von nach  stehenden Formeln:

    welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man       ss-Chlorbuttersäure    mit Chlorbenzol und  Aluminiumchlorid auf höhere Temperatur er  hitzt. Das Produkt soll zur Herstellung von  Farbstoffen Verwendung finden.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  Eine Lösung von 61 Gewichtsteilen     ss-          Chlorbuttersäure    in 390     Gewichtsteilen    Chlor  benzol wird unter Umrühren mit 134 Ge  wichtsteilen gepulvertem Aluminiumchlorid  versetzt. Man steigert die Temperatur all  mählich bis auf<B>100'</B> oder darüber und hält    sie einige Stunden.     Hierauf    giesst man auf  Eis und destilliert mit Wasserdampf. An  fangs geht nur Chlorbenzol über und später  das Gemisch der entstandenen aromatischen       Ringketone.     



  Das Produkt ist bei gewöhnlicher Tem  peratur flüssig und     wird    beim Abkühlen teil  weise fest. Es ist farblos; in Wässer,     Al-          kalien    und     iSäuren    nahezu unlöslich, in or  ganischen     Lösungsmitteln    verhältnismässig  leicht löslich.
