Schienenstossverbindung.
Rail joint connection. The subject matter of the present invention relates to a rail butt joint with the two rails interconnecting tabs. It has been shown that these tabs used previously, which are arranged on both sides of the webs of the two rails abutting one another, the impact on the wheels is not eliminated, since the pressure acting on one rail through the tabs is not enough on the could be transferred to another, neighboring rail and the rail running surfaces remained unevenly high.
This disadvantage is avoided by the rail butt joint according to the present invention in that two wedges are seen which, bridging the butt joint, protrude into a recess in the rail ends of the two rails and through the pressure of the brackets screwed together be wedged.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows a cross section through the rail butt connection, FIG. 2 is a side view, FIG. 3 is a plan view, and FIGS. 4 and 5 show a detail in FIG two views.
Two colliding rails, wel che each consist of rail head 1, the web 2 and the foot 3, are connected to one another by two tabs 4 arranged on both sides of the web 2 and have a Z-shaped cross section. The tabs 4 are screwed by means of screws 5 which pass through them and the web 2.
These tabs 4 do not have the same cross-section over their entire length, but have a double angle shape in the middle, i.e. near the rails, a simple angle shape at the ends and in between at those points where the rail foot is at a sleeper is to be attached to a simple tape shape.
In the end of the rail body of each rail, that is to say in the web 2, there is a recess directly above the foot 3, which is used to accommodate two wedges 6 and 7. These horny 6 and 7 are measured in length so that they do not fill the whole Ausspa ments in the rail webs 2, but that a margin 11 (Fig. 2) remains, which is sufficient to the temperature caused by the Tem Allow expansion of the rails and wedges.
In terms of width and height, on the other hand, the two horny 6 and 7 fill the recesses completely as soon as they are pressed against each other by the two tabs 4 or the screws 5 and wedged against each other. The stronger the pressure exerted by the brackets 4 or screws 5, the stronger the wedge effect of the wedges 6 and 7 on one another, and the better the connection between the rail body and the two rails that abut one another.
The horny 6 and 7 have a different shape (Fig. 4, 5), so that it is not possible to confuse the upper horny 6 and the lower wedge 7 when they are inserted. Underneath the rail foot 3, a girder 8 of U-shaped cross-section is arranged over the entire length of the tabs 4 and serves to reinforce the rail body and to transfer pressure from one rail to the other. The U-shaped beam 8 is fastened by screwing it to the lowest part 10 of the tabs 4 by means of two screws 9.
A pressure acting on one rail head is now transmitted through the wedges 6 and 7 to the other rail end. Since the pressure is primarily transferred to the web 2 and thus to the foot 3, the foot 3 could bend or tear off the web 2 if the lower train 8 were not provided as reinforcement.
It is an advantage of the rail butt connection described that it can be based on the currently existing rail profile, so that the connection is made not only for new tracks to be created, but also for existing systems by installing the wedges and beams can.
Furthermore, the screws 5, which are used to fasten the tabs 4, are no longer subjected to bending stress, so that these screws no longer loosen to the same extent as before.
The shape of the beam 8 can be adapted to the various types of sleepers, such as wooden sleepers, iron sleepers and the like. Instead of, as shown, the girder 8 could also be arranged with its open side facing upwards, with a U-shaped carrier placed in the girder 8 and open at the bottom, for example, as a support surface for the rail foot 3.
