B. Chlorjod, in Betracht.
Process for producing an iodopyridine compound. The main patent protects a process for the production of an iodopyridine compound, which is characterized in that 2-aminopyridine is treated with iodizing agents with the help of substances which are able to bind the liberated hydroiodic acid.
Further investigations have shown that 2-oxypyridine, which, like the 2-aminopyridine of the main patent, is able to react in tautomeric forms due to the proximity of the hydroxyl group to the ring nitrogen, by treatment in the sense of the main patent in therapeutically valuable, nucleus-substituted iodine compounds can be passed over.
According to the present invention, the 2-oxy-iodopyridine described by Magidson and Menschikoff is obtained by treating 2-oxypyridine with iodine agents with the assistance of substances which are able to bind the hydriodic acid released. Iodine or iodine-supplying substances, e.g. B. chlorinated iodine. The iodination can unit with alkaline or neutral reaction in the presence or absence of solvents such. B. of water.
Salts of weak acids, such as carbonic acid or boric acid, are preferred as hydrogen iodide-binding substances. Depending on the other conditions, it can be added all at once or gradually, for example in portions. Strongly alkaline substances such as sodium hydroxide have proven to be unsuitable or unsuitable for the present process.
<I> Example: </I> 19 g of 2-oxypyridine are melted with 15 g of 2003 and 51 g of iodine on a water bath. When the reaction is complete, it is boiled with dilute potassium hydroxide solution and precipitated with hydrochloric acid in the presence of SO2. The crude product can be recrystallized from glacial acetic acid and then melts at 275. Yield 16 g. About 2-3 g of 2-Ogy-5-iodopyridine with a melting point of <B> 190 '</B> can still be obtained from the mother liquor.
The preparation should be used in therapy.
