Beispiel: 412 Gewichtsteile 2 - Amino - 5 - benzoyl- amino -4 '- oxydiphenylsulfon-3'-karbonsäure (dargestellt durch Kondensation von 1 Mol. Chinondiimin mit 1 Mol. Salizylsulfinsäure und halbseitige Benzoylierung der so erhal tenen 2-.,5-Diamino-4',oxydiphenylsulfon-3'- karbonsäure) werden bei etwa 40' mit der hinreichenden Menge Ammoniakwasser sus pendiert;

of its homologues or substitution products used "which contain a hydroxyl and a carboxyl group in the non-amidated nucleus ortho to one another.
Depending on the choice of the coupling component, whether it is mono- or polyazo, dyes are obtained in a wide variety of shades. They are suitable both for wool dyeing using the chroming process and, especially because of their good soap and chlorine fastness, for cotton printing. As a result of the external position of the affiliated group, they show the further advantage that the chromed colors differ only slightly from the direct ones in color tone.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of an azo dye, which is to be licensed, which is characterized in that the diazo compound of 2 - amino - 5 - benzoylamino - 4 '- oxydiphenylsulfone-3'-carboxylic acid is mixed with 2-amino-8- naphthalene-6-sulfonic acid in an acidic medium kup pelt.
Example: 412 parts by weight of 2 - amino - 5 - benzoylamino -4 '- oxydiphenylsulfone-3'-carboxylic acid (produced by condensation of 1 mol. Quinonediimine with 1 mol. Salicylsulfinic acid and one-sided benzoylation of the so obtained Tenen 2 -., 5-diamino-4 ', oxydiphenylsulfon-3'-carboxylic acid) are suspended at about 40' with the sufficient amount of ammonia water;
the cooled fine suspension of the ammonium salt is mixed with 69 parts by weight of sodium nitrite and slowly acidified with the necessary amount of 20% hydrochloric acid at about +5 'while stirring, whereupon the yellowish colored diazo compound separates out nicely in crystalline form.
When the diazotization is complete, it is combined at 5 with the aqueous solution of 289 parts by weight of 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid. During the coupling, which takes place fairly quickly, the mixture is blunted with a little sodium acetate solution and salted out after the reaction has ended. The dye, worked up in the usual way, is a red powder that is soluble in water with a wine-red color. In an acidic bath, it pulls on a clear burgundy on wool. The coloration does not undergo any noteworthy change through re-chroming.
The chromium-plated color is very stable and lightfast.
