proceed. for the production of a stain dye. German Patent No. 431264 describes valuable red mordant dyes for chromium printing which are obtained by coupling the diazo compounds of 3-aminobenzolazosalicylic acid, their homologues or substitution products with acidylperiaminonaphtholsulfonic acids.
If, in place of an acylperiaminonaphtholisulphonic acid, a simple periaminonaplitholsulphonic acid which is unsubstituted in the amino group is used in these combinations, significantly less interesting dyes are obtained, namely those with lower chlorine fastness. So it seems that in the case of German patent specification No. 431264 this acidyl bezw. Acetyl group is important for the authenticity of these dyes.
Another way has now been found in order to obtain real, namely chlorine-resistant mordant dyes in this area. Instead of using a periaminonaphtholsulfonic acid (1-amino-8-naphthol-3:
6-disulfonic acid) to acidylate the amino group. Namely, an azo group is introduced in the o-position to this amino group by coupling with a diazo compound in weakly acidic solution. The monoazo dye obtained in this way is then mixed with a diazotized aminoazo body in an alkaline medium - similar to those in German Patent No.
431264 used - coupled.
Accordingly, according to the present invention, there becomes a valuable trisazo dye. obtained by 1-amino-8-naphthol-3:
6-disulfonic acid initially in an acidic medium. with the diazo compound of 4-nitroaniline-2-sulfonic acid sodium, then in alkaline. Medium combined with the diazotized aminoazo compound from 3-amino-4-sulfobenzolazosalicylic acid.
When dry, the dye thus obtained is a gray-black powder which is soluble in water with a greenish blue color. In concentrated sulfuric acid it dissolves with a gray-brown color. By adding water to this solution, a greenish blue precipitate separates out.
In chrome printing on cotton, the same produces green to blue-green shades with good fastness properties, namely good fastness to soap and chlorine. In accordance with its nature as a polyazo dye, the product can be etched in pure white using hydrosulfite.
The dye is a welcome addition to the chrome color scale for cotton printing. Example: _. The sparingly soluble diazo compound prepared in the customary manner from 24 parts of 4-nitroaniline-2-sulfo-acidic sodium is filtered off. This moist diazo body is stirred into a solution of 81.9 parts of 7th-amino-8-naphthol-3: 6-disulfonic acid and 5.5 parts of sodium carbonate in 250 parts of water.
The temperature of the coupling mass is kept at 5 to 10 C. The coupling takes place with the acid still adhering to the diazo body in a weakly mineral acid medium. After the reaction has ended, it is salted out and pressed off. The monoazo dye thus obtained dissolves in water with a red-violet color.
On the other hand, by diazotizing 3-nitroaniline-4-sulfonic acid, coupling with salicylic acid and reducing the nitro group present in the monoazo body formed with sodium sulfur, 3-amino-4-sulfobenzolazosalicylic acid (aminoazo compound) is produced in the usual way.
33.7 parts of the aminoazo compound prepared in this way are diazotized in the form of a finely divided aqueous suspension at about 15 ° C. with 30 parts of hydrochloric acid and 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite with stirring. The sparingly soluble diazo body is suction filtered and carried in moist form into a neutral solution of 54.8 parts of the monoazo dye, the preparation of which has been described above, in 400 parts of water.
The coupling is carried out by adding 34 parts of magnesium carbonate and stirring the mass for 10 to 12 hours at 15 ° C. It is acidified, salted out, filtered and washed with salt water in order to remove the magnesium salt. The precipitated dye acid is brought into solution with the aid of soda and water, salted out, filtered off and dried.
