Switch for electrical installations. The object of the present invention is a switch for electrical installations and characterized in that it comprises a circuit closing lever. one of the ends has two bosses cooperating with a said provided on a spring and which, raised at the same time as the spring is stretched, determines the different positions of the circuit-closing lever. Preferably
the bosses of the circuit closing lever will be in the same plane as this lever and will cooperate with a leaf spring having a sinuosity forming a bos sage and acting on the bosses of the circuit closing lever.
There is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, two embodiments of a switch according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows the first in plan, FIG. 2, the watch in section along line II-II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3, the watch also in plan, the circuit closing lever being in a position other than that of FIG. 1; Fig. 4 shows from the side and partially in section, another embodiment of a switch.
Referring to Figs. 1, 2 and 3 of the sin, 1 designates a base made of porcelain or other insulating material having an internal cavity which can be closed by means of a cover 2. The base has a nozzle 3 for the introduction of the wires. the installation. On the base are mounted two terminals 4 to which are connected the two phase wires and under which are also clamped two connection plates 5 which lead to two current socket contacts 6 each pierced with a central hole allowing the introduction of a file. From one of these contacts is taken a branch clamped under the pivot 7 of a contact lever 8 which can oscillate on this pivot between the two sockets 6.
This contact lever has a friction spring 9 which continuously bears against the base of the pivot and ensures good electrical contact between the moving parts.
Two side arms 9 of the contact lever cooperate with forks 10 to establish contact between one of the phase wires and said forks. These can be connected independently of one another to circuits that need to be supplied with electric current.
The end 11 of the contact lever op posed to the insulated lever 12 comprises two bosses 13 separated from one another by a notch into which the. sinuosity 14 of a leaf spring 15 introduced into the pipiers 16 fixed to the base and split along their longitudinal axis to receive said spring. In the position shown in fig. 1, the boss or sinuosity 14 of the spring 15 is located between the two bosses 13 of the contact lever 8. The latter is therefore maintained in a neutral position and both of the external circuits are interrupted.
In the position shown in fig. 3, the lever 8 has been oscillated from left to right and, after the boss 13 has passed over the spring bos 14 of the spring, the latter maintains the contact lever in its closed circuit position to the left. The roundness of the bos sage and the tension of the leaf spring act to prevent the lever 8 from staying in an intermediate position. The openings as well as the closings of the circuit are therefore sudden.
The construction of this oscillating lever allows its pivot to be flanked by the two contact sockets 6 and to have, in a very small volume, a switch and a current socket, objects for which, until now, two separate plinths and separate facilities.
Fig. 4 shows how it is possible to construct the switch for concealed installations. The base is fixed to a cover which rests flush with the wall, the whole apparatus being concealed in a recess: in the latter. The insulating handle, by means of which the switch lever is operated, is then fixed perpendicularly to the circuit closing lever and passes through the cover plate in a notch provided for this purpose.
In either of the embodiments, the bosses provided on the circuit-closing lever could not be in the extension of the plane of this lever, but form a ring at the end of said contact coming into contact. with the spring. The latter, also a leaf spring, would then be placed in a plane parallel to that in which the circuit closing lever oscillates.
