Livre. La présente invention se rapporte à un livre muni d'un répertoire. Ce livre est carac térisé en ce que ledit répertoire eât formé par des bordures en matière flexible, inter calées entre les feuillets du livre et présen tant chacune un prolongement qui fait saillie hors des feuillets et porte une indication.
Le répertoire ainsi constitué peut porter des indications numériques, alphabétiques ou même le texte entier des matières du livre de façon à permettre de retrouver beaucoup plus facilement qu'avec les tables des ma tières usuelles les indications et renseigne- ments contenus dans celui-ci.
Le dessin ci-annexé se rapporte à une forme d'exécution, donnée à titre d'exemple, de l'objet de l'invention et à des variantes de celle-ci.
La fig. 1 est un plan du répertoire de la dite forme d'exécution; les fig. 2 à G repré sentant des variantes d'une bordure de ce répertoire.
La forme d'exécution en question pré. sente sur la marge extérieure de chaque feuil- let une bande en papier fort, ou en carton, par exemple collée. La fig. 2 représente l'une de ces bandes; la partie de celle-ci si tuée au-dessous de l'indication constituée par la lettre Q est coupée de façon à se trouver à ras du bord extérieur du feuillet sur lequel la bande est collée. La partie-de cette der nière située.au-dessus de la lettre Q fait saillie hors des feuillets du livre. Cette par tie en saillie représente un espace sur lequel on peut écrire ou imprimer des indications; en outre, elle sert à protéger le bord du feuil let sur lequel la bande est collée.
Dans la variante de fig. 3, le bord extérieur de la bande, au-dessus comme au-des,3ous de la lettre Q, est coupé à ras du feuillet, de fa çon que la lettre peut être répétée des deux côtés du feuillet.
Pour protéger plus complètement les feuillets du livre, la bande pourrait avoir la forme représentée en fig. 4@dans laquelle le bord supérieur et le bord inférieur du feuil let sont protégés par des prolongements de la bande, tandis que le bord extérieur du elrillet est protégé par le corps de celle-ci.
Les bandes pourraient être remplacées par des feuilles entières et celles-ci tout en fai sant saillie hors des feuillets peuvent égale ment, comme représenté en fib. 5, s'étendre ur t:mte la largeur des feuillets et être re- li@@es avec ceux-ci lorsqu'on procède, de la manière usuelle, à la reliure du livre. On ob tiendra ainsi, pour écrire ou pour imprimer, Ilrr espace libre de la largeur du feuillet.

The repertory thus constituted can bear numerical or alphabetical indications or even the entire text of the contents of the book so as to make it possible to find much more easily than with the usual tables of contents the indications and information contained therein.

The form of execution in question pre. feel on the outer margin of each leaf a strip of strong paper or cardboard, for example glued. Fig. 2 represents one of these bands; the part of this if killed below the indication constituted by the letter Q is cut so as to be flush with the outer edge of the sheet to which the strip is glued. The part of the latter located above the letter Q protrudes from the leaves of the book. This protruding part represents a space on which indications can be written or printed; in addition, it serves to protect the edge of the film let on which the tape is glued.
In the variant of fig. 3, the outer edge of the strip, both above and below the letter Q, is cut flush with the sheet, so that the letter can be repeated on both sides of the sheet.
To protect the pages of the book more completely, the strip could have the shape shown in FIG. 4 @ in which the upper edge and the lower edge of the leaf let are protected by extensions of the strip, while the outer edge of the elrillet is protected by the body thereof.
The strips could be replaced by whole sheets and these while protruding out of the sheets can also, as shown in fib. 5, extend the width of the leaflets and be bound therewith when the book is bound in the usual manner. In this way, for writing or for printing, there will be kept a free space of the width of the sheet.
If before binding the sheets protrude frors (the leaves of the book, it would be impossible to proceed with the trimming of the latter without mutilating the protrusions of the sheets; therefore, they will preferably be folded as shown. in thread. 6.
