l pocket ensuring not only that the postage stamp is stored so that it cannot be damaged, but which furtherpermits of removing the postage stamp or prevents removing of the same without re ducing the possibility to inspect the stamp. Pockets of transparent material formed by a sheet are known. It has already been proposed to employ, forforming a pocket, a sheet of double width which is folded along a line parallel to the side edge. By means of a pocket of this type a postage stamp can be removably fixed on an album-leaf so that also its rear side can be inspected.

Arrangements have also become already known for fixingpostage stamps in analbum which consist of a transparent strip wound off from a roll. The strip has two edges folded over to the rear side. One of these folded over edges is serrated. The serrations engage over the postage stamp.

Fig. 5 shows the folded pocket according to 25 Fig. 4. In all figures the pocket is shown in rear view. The blank I for the pocket is made of cellulose derivatives free from fibres. The blank I has at each edge an extension 2, 3 and 4 respectively. 30 A tongue 5 is cut in the upper extension 2 and this upper extension 2 is gummed on the side facing the album leaf, whereas the extension 3 is gummed only at the points which are overlapped by the extensions 4. 35

When folding the blank to a pocket which is designed to permit subsequent removal of the postage stamp, first the extension 3 is folded over onto the back of the blank I whereupon the extensions 4 are folded over onto the extension 3 and portions of the back of the blank I in being stuck onto the extension 3. The extension 2 is then folded over onto the rear side without sticking on, so that the pocket remains open at the upper end. The gummed outer side of extension 2 serves to stick the pocket onto the album leaf. If a stamp is to be removed or inserted, the-pocket is folded on line 6 so that the back of the pocket is placed against the album leaf and the open end of the pocket made accessible.

If the pocket hasto be folded so that it is not possible to remove the postage stamp, the extension 3 is first folded over onto the back of .the blank I, whereupon the extension 2 is folded over onto the back of blank I and the extensions for facilitating subsequent tearing open of the pocket.

The pockets are. preferably sold preliminarily folded but the extensions not stuck together.

I claim:

A pocket for storing postage stamps and for sticking them in albums, wherein the pocket is made of transparent material, such as cellulose derivatives free from fibres, said pocket formed from a blank having a rectangular central portion, a flap on each edge of 'the central portion, one of said flaps being out to form a tongue between the sides thereof, all of said flaps being of lesser area than the central portion, and said flaps being foldable over the central portion with selected faces of the flaps gummed, the flap carrying the tongue and the diametrically opposite flap being first folded over the central portion and the other pair of edge flaps being folded over the first folded flaps and. gummed thereto laterally of the tongue and the outer face of the tongue being gummed for album mounting.
