Description
Procédé pour la fabrication d'un bornéol. L'objet de la revendication du brevet principal est un procédé pour la fabrication d'un bornéol, suivant lequel on condense du pinène avec de l'acide benzoylebenzoïque pour produire un éther bornéolique facile ment saponifiable.
Or, il a été trouvé qu'on peut remplacer dans ce procédé l'acide benzoylebenzoïque par de l'acide dichlorbenzoylebenzdïque, tout en obtenant un résultat analogue à celui du procédé du brevet principal, l'éther bornéoli- que obtenu étant facilement saponifiable au moyen de soude caustique aqueuse.
<I>Exemple:</I> 3 parties de d-pinène provenant du pinus halepensis, connu sous le nom d'essence de térébenthine grecque, sont chauffées à 130 C, en agitant bien, avec 1 partie d'acide di- chlorobenzoylebenzoïque -obtenu par traite ment d'acide dichlorophtalique anhydre avec du benzène et du chlorure d'aluminium. .près dissolution, le pinène qui n'est pas en tré en réaction est distillé à. la vapeur d'eau, le résidu est saponifié avec la quantité théo rique de soude caustique et le d-bornéol ob tenu est entraîné à la vapeur d'eau.
Le ren dement s'élève à environ 85 % du pinène consommé.
