Fixing device for vehicle engine. There are certain engines which are manufactured mainly for use on light motorcycle cycles which the vehicle manufacturer adapts himself to a bicycle leaving its factories. It is of great importance for the engine manufacturer to be able to machine a unique type of machine which can be sold to a wide variety of manufacturers with different manufacturing standards and whose vehicles have frames whose relative positions of the different parts vary. .
The device (the attachment for a vehicle engine according to the present invention solves the problem of almost universal adaptation very simply. It comprises a bracket for the support of the engine on its support and is characterized by a collaborating support segment. with a concave surface provided on the motor in order to be able to adapt the position of the bracket to the inclination of the motor supports while having a seat surface always having the same dimension.
It is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawings, an embodiment of the fixing device according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows it from the side, adapted to the motor, the latter being fixed to a curved tube ending the frame of a lightweight bicycle downwards; Fig. 2 is a section through the same fastening device shown on a scale larger than that (Fig. 1, section taken along line II-II of the latter figure; Fig. 3 is a side view of the fastening device , in -.cut along line III-III of Fig. 2.
The embodiment shown comprises a bracket a in three parts: the uprights b and the arch c, the latter being connected to the first by means of screws d which allow the clamping of the bracket on the tube of bicycle e.
On the side of the tube opposite the arc of the caliper is a support segment f whose outer surface collaborates with a concave surface g, cut in a protrusion of the housing h. The calipers are held by two screws i around the axis of which the entire caliper can be oriented, in the direction of the axis of the tube on which the motor is to be fixed.
The inner surface of the bearing segment f follows the shape of the tube and following the direction of the latter, with respect to the cylinder of the engine which must have a predetermined position, this bearing segment f takes a corresponding position on the concave face of the housing.
It is therefore possible, by means of the fixing device described, to vary the position of the flange relative to the motor in order to adapt this position to the inclination of the tube relative to the axis of the motor. A motor provided with said fixing device will therefore adapt to frames the inclination of which (the parts vary within certain limits and this without the seat surface necessary for good fixing being reduced.
