Sheet counter control mechanism for rotary machines for shaping paper, cardboard or other sheet products. The object of the present invention is a sheet counter control mechanism for rotary machines for shaping paper, cardboard, or other sheet products.
It comprises at least one movable member placed on the path of the sheets through the machine, this member being arranged so as to block part of the mechanism of the machine which actuates the counter, when the movable organ is not moved. by a sheet passing through the machine, which has the effect of suppressing the movement of the counter when it does not pass sheets in the .ma -chine, while the counter is activated as soon as a sheet passes.
The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. f is an elevational view of the mechanism, the shaping machine being shown only partially; Fig. 2 is a side view of the mechanism with the drive rollers of the forming machine removed for clarity of the drawing; Fig. 3 is an elevational view showing the mechanism in a working position different from that shown in FIG. 1: The shaft 1 (fig. 2), rotating freely in the frame 2 of the shaping machine and the support 3 mounted rigidly on a spacer 4, carries a lever 5 pinned at one end.
The fork-shaped end 6 of the lever 5 carries a pin 7 pierced with a hole 8 allowing a rod 9 of a connecting rod to pass through 10. A spring 11 normally causes the shoulder 12 of the connecting rod 10 to be applied against it. end 6 of lever 5.
The shaft 1 is drilled and notched at one end for the drive by means of the pin 13 of a counter 14 with intermittent movement.
A finger 15 integral with the shaft 1 is placed against the support 3, while a stop rail 16 prevents lateral sliding of the shaft 1. A cleat 17 rotating freely on a bolt 18 fixed to the support 3 crosses the path traversed by the leaves, this path being represented by the mixed line 19. The upper part 20 of the stopper 17, in the form of a watch lug, enters a circular notch 21 made in a support 22, the latter being held by a screw 23 on a shaft 24 mounted rigidly between the frames of the shaping machine.
The upper part 25 of the support 3 serves as a support and lower guide for the sheets, while the lower part 26 of the support 22 serves as an upper guide for the sheets passing through the. shaping machine.
The operation: of the sheet counter mechanism described above is as follows: A sheet 27 introduced into the shaping machine by rollers 28 and 29 passes between the upper guide 26 and the lower guide 25; the sheet passing between these two guides causes the tongue 20 to swing around its journal 18 which frees the finger 15 from the cleat 17. At this moment, the connecting rod 10 actuated by a mechanism not shown in the drawing descends, thus causing the rotation of the shaft 1, the finger 15 taking the position shown in FIG. 3. This rotational movement activates the counter which marks a new number.
During the passage of the sheet 27, the connecting rod 10 controlled by the mechanism of the shaping machine rises until the finger 15 assumes the position shown in FIG. 1. After the passage of the sheet, the tongue 20 resumes the position according to FIG. 1, the cleat 17 acting as a counterweight.
The lifting of the connecting rod 10 is sufficient to create each time a slight play between the finger 15 and the latch 17 to allow the latter to swing freely (fig. 1).
The mechanism actuating the connecting rod 10 works: in accordance with the introduction of the sheets. The descent of the connecting rod 10 takes place only when the sheet has completely lowered the tab 20, which allows the sheet to tilt the tab 20 effortlessly. If it does not pass leaves in the machine, the. tongue 20 is not lowered and retains the position according to FIG. 1. When lowering the connecting rod 10, the finger.
15 abuts against the stopper 17 which suppresses the movement of the counter, the connecting rod 10 continuing its stroke causes the spring 11 to bend, the rod 9 of the connecting rod 10 sliding in the hole 8 of the axis 7.
