Abstract
La présente invention traite d'informations concernant l'utilisation et l'identification d'une famille de gènes, les gènes FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC), qui permettent de réguler la période de floraison de plantes. Ces informations permettent de créer des plantes transgéniques dans lesquelles la période de floraison de plantes a été modifiée de manière sélective. Ces gènes permettent de retarder la floraison des plantes. Par conséquent, l'augmentation de l'activité de la protéine FLC retarde le début de la floraison et inversement l'inhibition de l'activité de cette protéine FLC avance le début de la floraison. L'invention a également pour objet un nombre représentatif d'échantillons de la famille de ces gènes. Certains membres de cette famille de gènes exercent une action sur d'autres espèces de plantes également.
