Abstract
La présente invention concerne un dispositif ralentisseur permettant d'obtenir une puissance de ralentissement constante et maximale quel que soit le régime du moteur, en pilotant la pression des gaz en amont de l'obturateur par un équilibrage des forces au niveau de la tige du vérin de commande. Le dispositif ralentisseur (1) est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un dispositif d'équilibrage (25) intégré au vérin de commande (9) et comportant la tige (12) du vérin dissociée du piston (11) et un organe ressort taré (26) monté entre eux. Quand l'obturateur (7) est fermé et, à partir d'un seuil de contrepression prédéterminé par le tarage de l'organe ressort, la tige (12) du vérin recule d'une course C' qui entraîne la réouverture de l'obturateur (7) d'un angle .alpha. générant une fuite des gaz d'échappement. Au-delà de ce seuil, l'angle de réouverture de l'obturateur (7) varie en fonction de la pression des gaz d'échappement assurant ainsi une contre-pression constante et maximale quel que soit le régime du moteur. Application: Véhicules équipés d'un moteur à combustion et notamment véhicules industriels.
