Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un substrat, par exemple une affiche en vinyle, sur lequel des encres colorées sont appliquées par transfert thermique. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à appliquer l'encre sur le substrat au moyen d'une structure composite comprenant un film de polyester fin, un revêtement séparable et une encre applicable par transfert thermique. Le revêtement intercalé entre le film et l'encre est conçu de manière a) à adhérer au film de polyester à température ambiante et à se séparer du film sous l'action de la chaleur et b) à adhérer suffisamment à l'encre pour être transféré avec celle-ci lors du transfert de l'encre sur le substrat sous l'action de la chaleur. Un élément du dessin de la structure composite comportant une première couleur est mis en contact avec le substrat et chauffé à une température permettant à l'encre d'adhérer au substrat mais empêchant la séparation du revêtement et du film de polyester. La doublure en papier est retirée du composite puis un second composite pour l'arrière plan, comportant une deuxième couleur, est déposé sur le substrat et les éléments du dessin. Le substrat, les éléments du dessin et l'élément de l'arrière plan sont chauffés à une température suffisante pour que les encres adhèrent sur le substrat et que le revêtement soit séparé des films de polyester.
