Abstract

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:

A device which can be used as a universal component in fish processing machines serves for the conveying and single delivery of fish in controllable amounts and distribu-tion. In this connection a continuous single delivery of the fish is to be achieved, in which, at the same time, the fish are distributed uniformly across the width of the conveying device. To this end the delivery position is arranged in the area of a returning run of a projecting upper section of an upwardly extending conveyor including entraining elements in the form of webs, and an edge of a cover provided in the area of a reversing station of the conveying belt, which edge facing the delivery position is arranged to be adjusted with respect to its gradient relative to the con-veying direction.

Description

~2~3~

The invention concerns a device for conveyiny and delivering fish in controllable amounts and distribution.
In a conveying device which can be used as a feeding conveyor for fish processing machines (see ~erman Patent 27 03 061) the ~ish are guided to the processing machine by means of a bucket band from an inclined reservoir via a lifting arrangement~ In this device the working run faces the processing machine and is so guided at the end of the lifting arrangement over the same that at the deflecting position the buckets are charged with a rotating acceleration which ejects their contents. This conveying ~evice cannot be used universally because the space between the lifting run and the delivery station is very limited since the latter is determined by the reversing station. Consequently an interim conveyor must be added to the pxocessing machines which need more space preferably upstream thereof in order to achieve a bridging between the delivery station of the conveying device and the feeding position of the processing machine. Furthermore it has proved to be desadvantageous that the conveying sequence produced by this device occurs discontinuously corresponding to each sudden release of the bucket contents. The consequence of this is that impediments occur in the takeover of the fish by the following processing machine.
It is an essential object of the invention to suggest a conveying device which can be used as a universal component part in fish processing machines. A further object is to provide for a conveying device capable of supplying the fish to a processing machine in a continuous conveying current in single layers as well as adjustably with regard to the amount and distribution of fish per time unit.
According to the present invention there is provided a device for conveying and delivering fish in control-lable amounts and distribution, the device comprising liftiny conveyor means provided with chamber means guided endlessly about de~lecting elements and including an essentially 3~

~3~3~

horizontally pxojecting upper section in the area of delivery station means, and the device fuxther comprising fish supplying container means in th~ region of supplying stati.on means and provided with an inclined bottom, wherein the chamber means are formed essentially by entraining webs moving along a path of the conveyor means, wherein the delivery station means are arranged in the returning run of the projecting upper section, and wherein in the region of the deflecting elements positioned in the projecting upper section cover means are provided equidistant to the path of the outer edges of the entraining webs, which cover means are led up until the delivery station means, said cover means having an edge facing the delivery station means, said edge being slanted with respect to the conveying direction of the conveyor means.
The advantages thus achieved lie especially in that an adjustment and adaptation of the delivery station to various circumstances and requirements can be achieved merely by the form and configuration of the cover which is positioned in the -`$ /

region of the reve.rsing ~tation oi. the conveying belt in the pro-jecting upper section of the conveying device resp. of the edge of the covax faclng the delivery station. Furthermore a con-tinuo~s single release of the ~ish is .safeguarded by the fact that the 1sh, dependellt on ~he e~fec~ o~ gravi~y come to xest on the inner surface of the cover in ~he region o~ the mentioned de~lect~
ing re~p. rever~ing station and t~lereby ~o foxm a single layer distribution which is ~hen ~aintained during the following pushing transport.
Apart from the possibility o~ control.~ing the sp~ed for the movem~n~ of the conveying belt. carrying ~he entraining webs and in order to achieve a further adjus~ability of the device the ent.raining webs may have a firs~ web por~ion ex~ending upwardly essentially vertically to the conv~ying direc~ion of ~he con-veyor, which first web portion in the region of the outer part of the chambers carrie~ a second web portion bevelled in the conveying direction, this second web portion being provided on its conveying s~de with a rail extendlng along the web and able to be fixed adjustably transverse to the web. Thereby the conveying volume of the single conveying chambers defined by the entraining w~bs is adjustable without the height of the entraining w~-bs measur~d Eor a narrow gap with respect t~ the cover havlng to be cha~ged.
In order to influence the la~eral distribution o~ the f ish the edge of the cover facing the delivery station can be arranged to be adjus~able in its gradient.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRA~INGS
Other and further objects oE the present inven-tion will be apparent from the following descrlptlon and claims and are illustrated in th~ accompanying drawings which by way ~30 of illu~tration schematically ~how preferred embodiments of the presen~ inventlon and the principles thereoE and wha~
now are considered to ~e t.he best modes contemplated for applying these principle~. Other embodiments o~ the invention embodying th~ same or equivalen~ prlnciples may be used and structural changes may be made a~ desired by those skilled in th art without departing from the present invention and the ~cope of the appe~ded claims.

DESCRIPTION OF THE P~EFERRED EMBODIMENTS
An upwaxdly extending machine frame essentially co~prises two side ele~ents 1 and 2 with a gallow~-like projecting upper section, which side parts are arranged parallel to each other on a sultable base frame 3. In this machine frame there are arranged xeversi~g resp. delecting stations 5 and 6 as well as 7~8 and 9/10 for the guiding of an endlessly running link conveyor belt 11 driven in a controllable mannerl which stations are merely shown rather generally. The link conveyQr belt 11 is provided with entraining webs 12 which are mounted on angle projection~ 13 of the belt 11 and each comprise a flrst vertically extending web portion 14 and a second web portion 15 e~tending therefrom and bevelled in the conveying direction. ~ small rail 16 extending in the longitudinal ~,?~

~z~

direction of ~he web 12 is attached to the bevelled web portion 15 on thP conveying side and can ~e adjusted with resard to its distance above the conveying belt 11 by means of not-shown elonga~ed holes. ~ fish supply.~ng con~alner 17 S connecting bokh side parts 1 and 2 ln the manner of a bridge is positioned near the base frame 3 on ~he side turn~d away from the pro~ec~ing upper section ~ and has a bot~om 18. The latter can be m~de to oscillate by means of a vlbrator 20, is arranged inclined in the direction of a path 19 of the ~0 entraini~g webs 12 and ends ~lmost at the path 19. A cover 21 is po~ltioned in the region of the reversing station G in the projecting upper section 4 equldistant at a small distance from the path 19 of the entraining webs 12 which cover 21 is guided around to a returning run 22 of the projecting upper section 4 and ends in front of the de~lection stations 7/8, leaving free a delivery station 23. ~n edge 24 pointing towards the latter is formed by a sliding plake 26 which can be swivelled around a coupling 25 near the side element 1 and is adjustable by means o~ an elongated hole, which plate can be firmly set by means of a clamping device 27 so that the gradient of the edge 24 is variable in respect of the conveying direction.
The mode of operation of the appara~us ls ~he following:
With the support of the vibration of the bottom 18 the ~ish supplied to the store tank 17 reach the path l9 of the entraining web~ 12 and are entrained resp. conveyed by these.
The number of fish conveyed by each entraining web 12 adjusts itself acGording to the arrangement of the rail 16, i~e. its ~`i 5 distance fxom the conveyor bel~ 11. The ish are thus pushed on to the level of the projecting upper section 4 and run under the covex 21. Xn the region of ~he reversing station 6 the fish are released from the link con~eying belt 11 and the entraining web 12 by the effe~t of gr~vity and slide by movin~ ln fron~ of the web 12 on the inner surface of the cover 21, spreading th~mselves in a slngle layer. In the further course this layer of the fish is enyaged in a pushing manner by the entraining web 12 which has in the meantime arrived above and it is led to the delivery station 23~ The distribution of the fish is effec~ed by~means of the adjust-able sliding plate 26. The edge 24 of the sliding plate ~6 whlch faces the delivery s~ation 23 can be adjusted with respect to its direction in accordance with the speed of the entraining webs 12 such that a delivery of the fish essentially uniform over the width of the delivery station 23 can be achieYed.
The coupling 25 of the sliding plate 26 is not limited -to the described positionO It can also be arranged in the region between the side el~nents 1 and 2, preferably in the middle thereof, a uniform influence on the marginal areas of the delivery station 23 beiny obtainable when i~ is adjusted.
