Abstract

DISPOSITIVO E MÉTODO PARA DETECTAR PLACAS NA CAVIDADE BUCAL. A presente invenção refere-se a métodos e dispositivos para detectar placa em uma superfície da cavidade bucal, para a qual um agente fluorescente capaz de ligar-se à placa tenha sido aplicado, de modo que uma fonte de radiação emita radiação incidente para contatar a superfície, sendo que a luz refletida e a emissão fluorescente resultantes do contato da radiação com a superfície são recebidas por um receptor óptico e transmitidas por uma rota óptica no dispositivo, onde o sinal de luz óptico da luz refletida e da emissão fluorescente é convertido em um sinal elétrico, e onde sinais elétricos da emissão fluorescente e luz refletida são então manipulados matematicamente para fornecer um valor de placa compensado como uma função da distância do receptor óptico e da superfície da cavidade bucal à qual o agente fluorescente tenha sido aplicado.
