Abstract
MéTODOS E EQUIPAMENTO PARA TRANSMITIR DADOS EM CAMADAS E NãO EM CAMADAS VIA MODULAçãO EM CAMADAS. Um controlador de camada de controle de acesso a meios (MAC) pode gerenciar dados de camada base e dados de camada de aperfeiçoamento em um sistema de modulação em camadas. O controlador de camada MAC pode processar tanto dados de camada base quanto dados de camada de aperfeiçoamento e mapear os simbolos codificados em uma constelação de modulação em camadas quando ambos estiverem presentes. Se os dados para uma das camadas terminarem, então o controlador de camada MAC pode gerar e fornecer dados de enchimento predeterminado à camada à qual faltam dados adicionais, O controlador de camada MAC pode enviar um sinal de controle ao hardware da camada física de modo a fazer com que o hardware mapele os sinais em camadas que têm os dados de enchimento em uma constelação de sinais modificada, O controlador MAO pode também gerar uma mensagem de overhead que indica a ocorrência dos dados de enchimento, O receptor pode receber a mensagem de overhead e pode utilizar as informações para configurar o receptor para a constelação de modulação em camadas ou a para a constelação de sinais modificada.
