Abstract
"MéTODO DE DESTRUIçãO DE BACTéRIA NUMA áREA DE TRATAMENTO DO PACIENTE E COMPOSIçãO ANTIMICROBIANA DE TERAPIA FOTODINáMICA". é revelado um método e uma composição para destruição de micróbios, especialmente bactéria, no corpo utilizando Eritrosina B junto com radiação eletromagnética. Num método preferido, uma composição compreendendo Eritrosina B é introduzida numa área de tratamento. Depois de um período suficiente de tempo decorrido, é aplicada radiação de um comprimento de onda apropriado à área para ativar a Eritrosina B e, por uma reação fotodinâmica, destruir a bactéria. A radiação preferida tem um comprimento de onda ao redor de 530 nm. A Eritrosina B é incorporada num gel, que atua de modo a restringir a ação fotodinâmica próxima ao biofilme, assegurando, deste modo, que apenas bactéria não desejada é afetada e a microfiora natural está incólume. Este método é efetivo para destruir pelo menos bactérias Gram-positivas e é particularmente efetivo em áreas em que os meios complexos tais como saliva também estão presentes.
