Abstract
"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA DETERMINAR COBERTURA E COMUTAçãO ENTRE SISTEMAS DE COMUNICAçãO SOBREPOSTOS". São descritas técnicas para determinar se uma terminal está ou não sob a cobertura de um sistema de comunicação sem fio corrente (por exemplo, um sistema de dados em pacotes) e para comutar do sistema corrente para outro sistema de comunicação sem fio (por exemplo, um sistema de voz / dados). Em um método, é inicialmente obtida pelo menos uma medição de pelo menos um parâmetro para pelo menos uma estação base no sistema-corrente. As medições podem ser medições de SNR. Uma métrica é derivada com base nas medições e utilizada (tipicamente em conjunto com um limite de métrica e um temporizador) para determinar se o terminal está dentro da cobertura do sistema corrente. Uma comutação para outro sistema é iniciada caso o terminal seja considerado como estando fora da cobertura do sistema corrente. Os dois sistemas propiciam pelo menos um serviço em comum (por exemplo, um serviço de dados em pacotes).
