"DETECçãO E SELEçãO DE SISTEMA DE REDE DE ACESSO LOCAL SEM FIO". Trata-se de um método e um equipamento para detecção e seleção de serviço de Rede de área Local Sem Fio (WLAN). Uma rede celular pode fornecer anúncio de uma WLAN, como em uma mensagem de sinalização de overhead. O anúncio pode identificar o(s) Ponto(s) de Acesso por meio de um Identificador de Conjunto de Serviços Estendidos (ESSID). A estação remota pode então fazer varredura para detecção de serviço WLAN automática ou manualmente.
