Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"PREPARAçãO DE 4,4'-DICETO-CAROTENóIDES"<D>. Um processo para a preparação de um polieno substituído terminalmente no anel, simétrico, compreende reagir um di(O,O-dialquil acetal) de polieno com um éter de dienol cíclico na presença de um ácido de Lewis e Br÷nsted, hidrolisar o produto da condensação resultante dai e clivar o álcool sob condições básicas ou ácidas do derivado de polieno produzido neste estágio. Os novos éteres de dienol cíclicos assim como do mesmo modo os novos intermediários resultantes da condensação e os outros intermediários neste processo formam outros aspectos da invenção. Os produtos finais são primariamente carotenóides que encontram uso correspondente, por exemplo, como colorantes e pigmentos para alimentos, produtos para animais etc.
