<B>"MéTODO PARA PRODUçãO DE GLICEROL A PARTIR DE UM ORGANISMO RECOMBINANTE, CéLULA HOSPEDEIRA TRANSFORMADA E MéTODO PARA PRODUçãO DE 1,3-PROPANO DIOL A PARTIR DE UM ORGANISMO RECOMBINANTE<D>" A presente invenção trata-se de organismos recombinantes que compreendem genes que codificam uma atividade de glicerol-3-fosfato desidrogenase e/ou de glicerol-3-fosfatase útil para a produção de glicerol a partir de uma variedade de substratos de carbono. Os organismos contêm adicionalmente disrupções nos genes endógenos que codificam proteínas que possuem atividade de glicerol quinase e glicerol desidrogenase.
