Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"PRODUçãO DE áCIDO LINOLêNICO REDUZIDO EM SOJAS"<D>. São providas sojas (isto é, Glycine max. L. Merr) possuindo um novo determinante genético para a produção reduzida de ácido linolênico no óleo vegetal endogenamente formado de sementes. Este determinante genético é o par de genes fan3fan3 recessivos homozigóticos que verifica-se ser capaz de formação através de mutagênse. Uma vez formado, este determinante genético pode ser protamente transferido a outras linhagens de soja e cultivares onde ele é expresso similarmente em uma base segura, em condições de crescimento em campo convencionais. Em uma forma de realização preferida, uma planta de soja possui a presença combinada dos pares de genes recessivos homozigóticos (1) fan1fan1 ou fan1(A5)fan1(A5), (2) fan2fan2, bem como (3) fan3fan3 para formação de ácido linolênico reduzido nas sementes e verifica-se que uma expressão incomumente baixa para produção de ácido linolênico no óleo vegetal resultante de sementes é provida, que é menos do que 1,3 por cento, em peso, e, mais preferivelmente, é não mais do que 1,1 por cento, em peso, com base no teor de ácido graxo total. Um óleo vegetal é tornado possível, neste caso, que é particularmente bem apropriado para aplicações para frigir na ausência da necessidade de hidrogenação.
