Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR UMA COMPOSIçãO DE ALQUILALUMINOXANO SOLúVEL EM HIDROCARBONETO, E, COMPOSIçãO DE CATALISADOR DE POLIMERIZAçãO". Uma composição de alquilaluminoxano solúvel em hidrocarboneto, tal que metilaluminoxano, ou mesmo um metilaluminoxano modificado, pode ser preparada pela preparação de um precursor de alquilaluminoxano através de meios não-hidrolíticos, tais que, pelo tratamento de pelo menos um composto de trialquilalumínio com um composto contendo uma ligação oxigênio-carbono, adição àquele precursor de uma quantidade efetiva de um composto de organoalumínio, que evita a formação de espécies insolúveis, tal que, um composto de trialquilalumínio, em que cada grupo alquila contém dois ou mais átomos de carbono, e conversão daquele precursor modificado a um alquilaluminoxano, tal que, por termólise. Em uma modalidade distinta da invenção, de um produto de metilaluminoxano insolúvel for formado usando a técnica não-hidrolítica, ele pode ser solubilizado por tratamento com uma quantidade solubilizante de um alquilaluminoxano, preparado seja por meio hidrolítico ou não-hidrolítico, em que as porções alquila contêm dois ou mais átomos de carbono. Os produtos de aluminoxano apresentam solubilidade elevada em hidrocarbonetos alifáticos e estabilidade térmica aperfeiçoada em hidrocarbonetos aromáticos.
