Abstract

MODULAÇÃO DA REDUÇÃO DO TEOR DE AÇÚCAR EM UMA PLANTA (INV). A presente invenção refere-se a uma célula vegetal compreendendo: (i) um polinucleotídeo compreendendo, consistindo ou consistindo essencialmente em uma sequência com pelo menos 81% de identidade de sequência com a SEQ ID NO: 5 (NtINV4-S) ou pelo menos 62% de identidade de sequência com a SEQ ID NO: 7 (NtINV4-T); (ii) um polipeptídeo codificado pelo polinucleotídeo apresentado em (i); (iii) um polipeptídeo compreendendo, consistindo ou consistindo essencialmente em uma sequência com pelo menos 85% de identidade de sequência com a SEQ ID NO: 6 (NtINV4-S) ou pelo menos 85% de identidade de sequência com a SEQ ID NO: 8 (NtINV4-T); ou (iv) um construto, vetor ou vetor de expressão compreendendo o polinucleotídeo isolado estabelecido em (i), em que a referida célula vegetal compreende pelo menos uma modificação que modula (a) a expressão ou atividade do polinucleotídeo ou (b) a expressão ou atividade do polinucleotídeo o polipeptídeo, em comparação com uma célula vegetal de controle na qual a expressão ou atividade do polinucleotídeo ou polipeptídeo não foi modificada.
