Abstract

a presente invenção refere-se a um dispositivo que permite medição de níveis de açúcar no sangue em mamíferos, principalmente humanos, por medição da refração de radiação eletromagnética a partir da pele ou tecido do corpo, sem a necessidade de amostragem invasiva, tal como penetração ou perfuração da pele. o dispositivo usa a porção de luz azul do espectro visível e radiação próxima à infravermelho (ir) como uma fonte de radiação eletromagnética. o dispositivo cai dentro do campo de diagnósticos médicos, e é essencialmente projetado para ser portátil, de modo que os usuários podem usá-lo em seus pulsos, por exemplo. os sinais de luz/radiação refletida medidos pela unidade de sensor são filtrados pelo conjunto de filtragem de frequência e matematicamente processados de modo a calcular o nível de açúcar no sangue atual. a precisão do resultado de medição do dispositivo é comparável aos resultados obtidos com o método padrão de medição por amostragem do sangue. um método para medição de nível de açúcar no sangue usando referido dispositivo é também revelado.
