Abstract

é divulgado um processo para preparar um sorbato de hidroxialquila que compreende as etapas de: a) colocar em contato em conjunto num recipiente de reação um solvente, ácido sórbico, um catalisador de haleto de metal de transição, um antioxidante e um óxido de alquileno em condições suficientes para formar o sorbato de hidroxialquila; b) remover o solvente a vácuo, em que o antioxidante é caracterizado pela seguinte fórmula ou um sal do ácido carboxílico da mesma: em que y, x e r1 são como aqui definidos. o processo da presente invenção fornece uma maneira conveniente de preparar sorbatos de hidroxialquila com elevado rendimento e pureza sem etapas de processamento complicadas.
