Abstract

são providos composições e métodos para transformação de plantas, preferencialmente monocotiledôneas, e ainda mais preferencialmente, cana-de-açúcar. os métodos de transformação envolvem infecção de tecido vegetal com agrobacterium, e co-cultivo utilizando meio de cultura compreendendo altas concentrações de agente gelificante, com o resultado de inibir o crescimento exacerbado da bactéria e aumentar as frequências de transformação. a invenção inclui regenerar plantas transformadas, e as plantas transformadas em si.
