a presente invenção refere-se a um pulverizado baseado em ferro pré-ligado de baixo custo que tem alta compressibilidade, capaz de render um componente compactado e sinterizado tendo alta densidade nova, (gd), e alta densidade sinterizada, (sd). também, um método ou processo para produção de componentes, especialmente engrenagens, incluindo compactação de mistura pulverizada contendo o pulverizado baseado em ferro pré-ligado, sinterização do componente compactado, carburação de baixa pressão, (lpc), resfriamento rápido com gás de alta pressão (hpgq), e têmpera, é provido. em uma modalidade, o processo inclui sinterização de alta temperatura. outros aspectos da presente invenção incluem uma mistura pulverizada contendo o pulverizado baseado em ferro pré-ligado e componentes produzidos pelo novo processo a partir de mistura pulverizada. tais componentes carburados exibem uma superfície dura combinada com um núcleo mais macio e mais rijo, propriedades necessárias para, por exemplo, engrenagens automotivas submetidas a ambiente áspero.
