são aqui descritos métodos e sistemas para a rápida detecção de microrganismos em uma amostra, sem cultura para o enriquecimento do microrganismo. um bacteriófago modificado é também descrito, o qual compreende um gene indicador não nativo na região tardia do gene. o produto do indicador não é uma proteína de fusão. a especificidade dos agentes infecciosos permite que um microrganismo específico seja marcado, e um sinal indicador possa ser amplificado para otimizar a sensibilidade do ensaio.
