Abstract

a invenção refere-se a fibra, e um processo para fabricação da mesma, a fibra compreendendo uma mistura de pelo menos um primeiro polímero e um segundo polímero, o primeiro polímero tendo uma estrutura derivada da reação de um ou mais monômeros amina e uma pluralidade de monômeros ácidos, sendo que um ou mais monômeros amina inclui pelo menos 60 moles porcento de 5(6)-amino-2-(p-aminofenil)benzimidazol, e a pluralidade de monômeros ácidos incluem aqueles tendo uma estrutura de cl-co-ar1-co-cl & cl-co-ar2-co-cl sendo que ar1 é um grupo aromático tendo ligações para-orientadas e ar2 é um grupo aromático tendo ligações meta-orientadas, e sendo que a pluralidade de monômeros ácidos apresenta pelo menos 50 moles porcento do monômero contendo grupo aromático ar2; e o segundo polímero apresenta uma estrutura derivada da reação de metafenileno diamina e cloreto de isoftaloila. esta fibra é utilizada em tecidos de vestuário de proteção resistentes ao calor e indumentárias.
