resumo patente de invenção: "válvula de drenagem implantável no olho de um paciente para o tratamento de glaucoma". a presente invenção refere-se a uma válvula de drenagem (10) implantável cirurgicamente no olho (o) de um paciente para o tratamento de glaucoma, que compreende um corpo principal (11), e um tubo de drenagem (12) conectado em uma extremidade com o corpo principal (11) e provido para ser implantando no olho (o) de modo a penetrar com a sua ponta mais distante dentro da câmara anterior (ca) do globo ocular (go), de modo a permitir a drenagem para fora do humor aquoso (ua), em que a válvula (10) está caracterizada por uma série de aperfeiçoamentos significativos, que incluem: uma configuração extraível (12a, 12b) do tubo de drenagem (12); uma forma achatada ou plana em seção (12') do tubo de drenagem (12, 12a, 12b); uma conexão livre de empecilhos entre a porção de ponta (12f) e o tubo de drenagem (12); uma série de bolsas ou compartimentos de retenção (11b); uma abertura divergente em forma de leque (11c) formada sobre o extradorso (s'), não em contato com o globo ocular, do corpo principal (11) da válvula, de modo a conduzir o humor aquoso (ua) e aperfeiçoar a lubrificação ao redor da válvula de drenagem (10) uma vez implantada; e uma configuração modificada, com relação às válvulas de drenagem convencionais, de modo a permitir, durante a operação cirúrgica uma disposição, mais próxima da íris, do furos (11d) para a inserção do fio para fixação.
