Abstract
resumo patente de invenção: "enzimas e métodos para síntese de estireno". a presente tecnologia desta invenção refere-se em geral a biossíntese de estireno. certas modalidades da presente tecnologia baseiam-se, em parte, ao reconhecimento de que fenilalanina pode ser convertida em estireno por uma via de duas etapas de desaminação e descarboxilação, com ácido trans-cinâmico (tca) como intermediário. dois tipos de enzimas estão diretamente envolvidos nesse processo, fenilalanina amônia liase (pal), que converte fenilalanina em tca, e ácido cinâmico descarboxilase, que coverte tca em estireno. células hospedeiras que expressam esses dois tipos de enzimas podem ser cultivadas em biorreator para produzir estireno a partir de substratos renováveis, como a glicose.
