Abstract
MÉTODO PARA A PRODUÇÃO DE LÃ MINERAL. O assunto referido na invenção é um método para a produção de lã de vidro que é constituído por: uma etapa de fusão para a obtenção de vidro fundido, onde a composição química do mesmo contém os seguintes componentes, em uma quantidade por peso que varia dentro dos limites definidos como se segue: SiO2 39 55%, Al2O3 16 -27%, CaO 3 -35%, MgO 0 -5%, Na2O+K2O 9 -17%, Fe2O3 0 -15%, B2O3 0 -8%, a referida etapa de fusão sendo executada por fusão elétrica em um forno constituído por um vaso feito de blocos refratários e pelo menos dois eletrodos submersos no vidro fundido, pelo menos um dos referidos blocos refratários em contato com o referido vidro fundido sendo feito de um material contendo pelo menos 60% em peso de óxido de zircônio e menos de 5% em peso de óxido de cromo, seguido por uma etapa de retirada do referido vidro fundido. A lã de vidro assim obtida contém entre 0,05% e 1% em peso de ZrO2.
