resumo da patente de invenção para: processo para o aprimoramento de betume e óleo pesado". um sistema e um processo de aprimoramento de óleo pesado e betume é divulgado para a síntese de hidrocarbonetos, um exemplo do qual é óleo cru sintético (sco). o processo vantajosamente evita o resíduo atribuído à formação de coque de petróleo e/ou resíduo a qual possui um efeito dramático no rendimento de material hidrocarboneto gerado. o processo integra tecnologia de fischer-tropsch com gaseificação e geração de corrente de gás rico em hidrogênio. a geração de gás rico em hidrogênio é convenientemente efetuada usando uma fonte de hidrogênio unicamente ou uma combinação de fontes de hidrogênio, um vapor rico em hidrogênio a partir do hidroprocessamento e do processo de fischer-tropsch, um reformador de metano vapor (smr) e reformador autotérmico (atr) ou uma combinação de smr/atr. a matéria-prima para o aprimoramento é destilada e a fração de fundo é gaseificada e convertida em um reator de fischer-tropsch. um gás de síntese pobre em hidrogênio resultante então é exposto à corrente de gás rica em hidrogênio para otimizar a formação, por exemplo, do óleo cru sintético. a corrente de gás pobre em hidrogênio também pode ser efetuada por uma reação de deslocamento de gás água, unicamente ou em combinação ou em adição com a geração de corrente de gás rico em hidrogênio. um sistema para efetuar o processo também está caracterizado na especificação.
