Abstract
"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA PROCESSAR SINAIS DE áUDIO DE UM FLUXO DE BITS". No padrão ISO/IEC 14496:2001 MPEG-4, diversos objetos de áudio que podem ser codificados com diferentes tipos de codificação do formato MPEG-4 podem juntos formar um sistema de áudio composto que representa uma única trilha de som proveniente de diversos subfluxos de bits. Em um receptor, os múltiplos objetos de áudio são decodificados separadamente, mas não diretamente reproduzidos para um ouvinte. Em vez disso, instruções transmitidas para mixagem são usadas para preparar uma única trilha de som. Conflitos de mixagem podem ocorrer no caso de os sinais de áudio a ser combinados terem diferentes números ou configurações de canal. De acordo com a invenção, é usado um nó de configuração de canal de áudio adicional que sinaliza os itens de informação de configuração de canal corretos para os fluxos de dados de áudio decodificados a ser apresentados. A invenção permite que o provedor de conteúdo ajuste a configuração de canal de uma maneira tal que o apresentador no lado do receptor possa produzir uma apresentação de canal correta sob todas as circunstâncias.
