Abstract
CODIFICADOR DE MULTICANAL, MéTODO PARA CODIFICAR SINAIS DE ENTRADA, CONEúDO DE DADOS CODIFICADOS, PORTADOR DE DADOS, E, DECODIFICADOR OPERáVEL PARA DECODIFICAR DADOS DE SAìDA CODIFICADOS é descrito um codificador de multicanal (10; 600) para processar sinais de entrada levados em N canais de entrada para gerar sinais de saída correspondentes levados em M canais de saída junto com dados paramétricos complementares; M e N são inteiros em que N > M. O codificador (10; 600) inclui um misturador descendente para misturar descendentemente os sinais de entrada para gerar os sinais de saída correspondentes, o codificador também incluindo um analisador para processar os sinais de entrada para gerar os dados de parâmetro, ditos dados paramétricos descrevendo diferenças mútuas entre os N canais de sinal de entrada para permitir regeneração durante decodificar um ou mais dos N canais de sinais de entrada dos M canais de sinais de saída. Tal codificador (10; 600) é capaz de prover codificação de dados altamente eficiente e também de ser de compatibilidade reversa com decodificadores relativamente mais simples tendo menos que N canais de saída de decodificação.
