Abstract

"INSTRUMENTO ELETROCIRúRGICO APERFEIçOADO". Revela-se um instrumento eletrocirúrgico aperfeiçoado e método para reduzir a produção de fumaça em um local de cirurgia. O instrumento eletrocirúrgico compreende um corpo de metal que possui uma camada isolante externa para reduzir a descarga térmica/elétrica vinda de partes não-funcionais do instrumento. Em um aspecto da invenção, emprega-se uma camada isolante que possui condução térmica por volta de 1,2 X 10^ 4^ W/m ^ 2^ <198>K e uma resistência dielétrica suportável de pelo menos aproximadamente 50 volts. Tal camada isolante poderá compreender, de maneira vantajosa, silício e/ou carbono. Em um outro aspecto da invenção, o corpo de metal é projetado de forma a apresentar uma condutividade térmica de pelo menos aproximadamente 0,35 X 10^ 2^ W/m <198>K e poderá compreender, de forma vantajosa, um metal selecionado do grupo: ouro, prata, alumínio, cobre, tântalo, tungstênio, colúmbio e molibidênio.
