Abstract
"MATERIAL REDOX PARA CáTODOS EM BATERIAS NãO AQUOSAS; E CéLULA ELETROQUìMICA". Um material de cátodo apresentando PVM para uso em células eletroquímicas recarregáveis. Foi descoberto que a cadeia principal polimérica de PVM, a qual consiste unicamente de átomos de carbono, não está sujeita a cisão durante ciclos repetidos de carga-descarga, desde que o material de cátodo permaneça substancialmente insolúvel em eletrólitos líquidos padrões. Como um resultado, células contendo PVM como o material de cátodo e eletrólito líquido são genuinamente eletroquimicamente reversíveis. o uso de PVM supera os problemas associados com organo-sulfetos da técnica anterior, com o que a dissolução de ânions no eletrólito líquido durante o descarregamento resulta em migração a partir do cátodo e contaminação da superfície do ânodo/eletrólito e ultimamente conduz à degradação do eletrólito e/ou deterioração da interface ânodo-eletrólito.
