Abstract

"MONTANTE DE AJUSTAGEM PARA USO EM UM CONJUNTO DE FREIO A TAMBOR". Extremidades opostas (11, 35) de um montante (10) se encaixam em sapatas opostas de um freio a tambor. Durante a frenagem, o montante (10) é livre para se estender, para compensar um desgaste de lona de freio. Uma mola de lâmina (24) pressionando-se contra o estreitamento (29) da porca (<sym>7) tende a estender o montante (10), embora esta extensão seja oposta pelo encaixe do pedal (40) do braço (37) com a face disposta axialmente (32) da porta (27). Devido a uma ação de pivotamento resiliente e a um posicionamento oblíquo do braço (37) em relação a dentes de came (31) na face (32), essas forças de extensão são convertidas em um giro da porca (27), levando a uma extensão axial do parafuso (33) e, assim, à extensão do montante (10). Uma rotação inversa da porca (27), quando da liberação da frenagem, é oposta por um contato com atrito entre ela e uma mola de lâmina (24).
