Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "COMPOSIçõES DE POLIPEPTìDEOS TóXICAS PARA OS COLEóPTEROS E PLANTAS TRANSGêNICAS RESISTENTES AOS INSETOS". São divulgados novos polipeptídeos inseticidas, e composições compreendendo estes polipeptídeos, seus fragmentos de peptídeos, e anticorpos específicos para os mesmos. Também divulgados são os vetores, as células hospedeiras transformadas, e as plantas transgênicas que contêm segmentos de ácidos nucléicos que codificam os polipeptídeos de endotoxína <sym> divulgados. Também divulgados são os métodos de identificar polipeptídeos e polinucleotídeos relacionados, os métodos de fazer e usar as células transgênicas compreendendo estas seq³ências de polinucleotídeos, bem como os métodos para controlar uma população de insetos, tais como o besouro-da-batata, a lagarta da raiz do milho do sul e a lagarta da raiz do milho do oeste, e para conferir, a uma planta, resistência a uma espécie-alvo de inseto.
