<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

having as object: Bag for collecting body fluid
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to a bag or pocket for collecting body fluid, more particularly urine, with a flexible supply pipe, the inlet opening of which can be closed using a protective sleeve and with an outlet at the bottom of the bag, the outlet opening of which can be closed using a relief valve. The bags known to collect a body fluid consist of a liquid-tight and elastic or flexible material. Their supply pipes are provided with a conical connection on the inlet side, on which there is a protective sleeve before its connection, for example, to a catheter (German patent application DOS 29 00 806).
A relief valve which is located at the bottom of the bag can be constituted by a flexible hose course which, with a view to its closing, can be pinched or bent at an acute angle or at a substantially straight angle and the end of which can be maintained with a support in a position which can keep the hose at least temporarily in a pinched state (German patent application DOS 30 01 992).
In the outlet opening, however, a drainage tube can also be inserted, the closure of which is ensured by means of pliers which must be loosened or removed for emptying the bag (German patent application DOS 23 29 088) .
The two types of closure, whether by bending or bending the pipe or pinching the tuayu, do not provide satisfactory sealing during optimal filling of the bag. In addition, these closings require dispositjfb
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
which increase the cost of the bag.
The object of the present invention is to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks. Its objective consists mainly in ensuring a relatively simple and impeccable closure of the bag without the aforementioned deformation of the pipe.
The problem posed on which the present invention is based was the development of a bag to collect a body fluid, for example urine, without leaks, and to carry it out in such a way that when the bag is closed, the outlet wall is subjected to a tension acting transversely to the direction of the outlet flow, which creates a relatively large sealing surface for the relief valve.
According to the present invention, the problem is solved by the fact that the outlet is a flow channel formed by the bottom bottom part of the bag and its flexible side walls, one side wall of which is provided, outside the bag. , a flexible tongue, arranged transversely to the flow channel, into which the protective sleeve of the supply pipe is inserted during a simultaneous tensioning of the two side walls and a simultaneous closing of the flow channel flow. The advantageous embodiment of the present invention also resides in the fact that the flow or discharge channel is part of the bag and that the tongue which is transverse to it is fixed to it by means of a weld bead.
It is also advantageous for the passage formed by the tongue and one of the side walls of the flow channel to have a shape which preferably corresponds to the periphery and the external shape of the protective sleeve. An advantageous configuration consists of a conical shape which harmonizes the finishing tolerances between the protective sleeve and the fixing of the tongue.
The rest of the embodiment according to the invention is further characterized by the fact that the thickness of the wall
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
of the tongue is greater than the thickness of the side walls. Advantageously, the material of the tongue is at least twice as thick as the material of the bag. Other advantages of the present invention as well as particularities and additional characteristics of the latter, will appear on reading the detailed description which follows, of an embodiment of the bag according to the invention with reference to the attached drawings in which: - Figure 1 shows a bag for collecting body fluid with relief valve and - Figure 2 shows a cross section of the relief valve according to Figure 1.
The following description relates to a bag for collecting urine, although the invention is not limited to such a bag.
In FIG. 1, the reference notation 1 designates a bag with flexible side walls 2, 3 which, mutually welded along the line 4, form two marginal parts 5, 6, an upper support part 7 and a part of bottom 8. The support part 7 comprises two suspension eyelets 9 and is connected with a flexible supply pipe 10. This supply pipe 10 which extends to the interior of the bag is provided at its end with entry of a conical connection body or connection 11 on which a protective sleeve 12 is previously pressed.
In the bottom or bottom part 8, there is an outlet 13 which is shaped as a flow channel 15 by a weld bead 14 and the side walls 2,3. One of these side walls 2, 3 is provided on the outside of the bag 1 with a flexible tongue 16 extending transversely relative to the flow channel 15, a tongue the connection of which with the corresponding side wall 2, 3 is ensured through the weld bead 14. By
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
this common connection, the passage formed by the tongue 16 and by one of the side walls 2,3 of the flow channel 15, acquires a shape analogous to the flow channel 15 which preferably corresponds to the periphery and the outer shape of the protective sleeve 12.
As FIG. 1 and more particularly FIG. 2 shows, the protective sleeve 12 can, for a simultaneous tensioning of the two side walls 2,3 and a simultaneous closing of the flow channel 15, be slid into the passage 17, so that outlet 13 is closed. In this way, the protective sleeve 12 also fulfills a valve function in the flow channel 15, in addition to its function of closing the supply pipe 10 and in addition to its protective function on the connector 11.
In preparation for filling the bag 1, the connector 11 is pulled from the protective sleeve 12, while the latter remains in the passage 17. If the connector 11 is then connected, for example with a catheter (not shown) and as the filling of the bag 1 begins, the protective sleeve 12 maintains the flow channel 15 in the closed position. This valve closure can be reinforced as long as the protective sleeve increases the pressure on the side walls 2, 3. To this end, only the protective sleeve 12 is pushed a little deeper into the passage 17, so that the two walls 2,3 lateral exert on the flow channel 15 higher tensions which ultimately ensure the complete closure of the outlet 13.
The tongue 16 is made of a strip of sheet material, the wall thickness of which is at least twice the individual thicknesses of the side walls 2, 3. Thanks to this arrangement, it is possible, when the bushing is pushed in. protection 12 in passage 17, to exert the tension effect, preferably on the side walls 2,3.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
According to another embodiment of the present invention, the relief valve can also be arranged in another position in the bottom part 8. This is the case, for example, when a lateral discharge is desired or when the a vertical discharge is preserved, the closure of which must be effected by horizontal introduction of the protective sleeve 12. While the first embodiment is already achievable by a modified position arrangement from the vertical to the horizontal, it suffices simply to rotating the discharge in the case of the second embodiment.
The inlet of the bag or the outlet side of the supply pipe is closed by a lip valve 18. The bottom part 8 also has a tear-off side 19 which is produced with the weld bead 14 and which must be removed during using the bag. The two closures ensure sterility until the bag is filled with body fluid.
