  PROCEDE DE FABRICATION DE TRONCONS DE ROUTE CHAUFFES.

   (Invention: Monsieur   Raymond   GOOSKENS)

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF HEATED ROADSETS.

   (Invention: Monsieur Raymond GOOSKENS)
It is already known to construct heated sections of road by laying heating cables on a suitably prepared base and covering them with a suitable coating.

   The object of the invention is a process for the economical manufacture of heated road sections making it possible to obtain a uniform thaw of the road in all climatic conditions. For this purpose, the manufacturing process

 of road sections heated according to the invention is characterized in that on a hard base layer, flexible heating elements are placed in the form of strips so as to cover practically the entire surface of the section of road. road and that these flexible heating elements are covered with one or more layers of a suitable coating.

   Preferably, the flexible heating elements in the form of strips are joined together in a waterproof manner.

   The invention is explained below with respect to an example of an embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawing. Figure 1 of the drawing is a sectional elevational view of the road, Figure 2 is a plan view of flexible heating elements deposited on the road. In FIGS. 1 and 2, a hard base layer 1 of tarmac is deposited on a bed of stones 2. On this hard base layer 1 are deposited strips of flexible heating elements 3 consisting of a plastic support and a conductive layer. Preferably, these heating elements are joined together, for example by a slight covering, by a fold or even by welding.

   It is also possible to arrange the heating elements with a certain spacing from one strip to the other, provided that the spacing is small enough to avoid non-uniform heating of the road surface.

   On these bands of heating elements are

 two more layers of tarmac 4 and 5 'are placed. The fresh tarmac of the base layer and of the layer 4 stick to the plastic of which the heating elements are made and thus ensure the cohesion of the various layers of road surfacing. On the other hand, the joined bands of the heating elements constitute an effective barrier against water infiltration. Optionally, protective sheets, for example of aluminum, can be glued to the flexible heating elements.

   The bands of heating elements can also be protected by protective sheets, joined by their edges. These protective sheets can be made for example of steel and can be welded or glued together. the bands 3 can have any length which depends in particular on the electrical supply. The power supply is made via transformers to which are connected power cables 6 and 7 connected to the two ends of the bands of heating elements 3.
