<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a formwork for the realization of the inner part of circular concrete channels.
In the technique used until now, the formwork has been provided in particular by a rubber hose inflated to size.
This rubber pipe is suspended from a piece of wood forming the slit formwork by iron wires.
As a result, each time the rubber tube is clamped by the suspension wire, this tube undergoes shrinkage; the shape of the concrete depends on it and one obtains a gutter of a variable diameter, presenting in the bottom of the hollows impossible to empty.
As this formwork is not rigid, the alignment of the slot in the frame is rarely carried out perfectly; most often we get a zig-zag gutter.
In addition, improper handling of a tool can puncture the rubber tube during concreting.
The formwork was also provided by a set of cardboard pipes not assembled together. These pipes, in this case, are placed in lost formwork and can disintegrate and fill the gutter,
These pipes are also suspended by iron wires and therefore present the same alignment difficulties as the rubber assembly.
The object of the present invention is to overcome these drawbacks and in the main order to obtain a retractable, rigid and indeformable formwork which can be extracted quickly and easily.
This formwork is essentially characterized in that it is made up of a curved retractable sheet with an outside diameter equal to that of the channel.
To this sheet are assembled two sheet lips forming a casing for the groove of the gutter.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, the curved sheet is suspended, in the concreting position, by a wedge preferably made of teak introduced between the two lips of the centered sheet.
In order to make the invention fully understood, an exemplary embodiment thereof will be described below with reference to the drawings in which
Figure 1 is a sectional view in the formwork ready for concreting,
Figure 2 is a section through a stripped tube.
Figure 3 is a section through the teak wedge,
Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing the cooperation of the teak wedge and the shuttering sheet.
Figure 5 is an elevational view of the wedge.
Figure 6 is an elevational view of a shuttering tube.
Figure 7 is a plan view of this tube.
Figures 8, 9 and 10 are detail views relating to the ends.
The metal formwork which is the subject of the invention comprises a curved sheet 1 with an outside diameter equal to that of the channel.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
To this sheet are assembled two sheet lips 2 forming a casing for the groove of the channel.
To allow this assembly without deformation, the plate of the lips is welded to a flat bar 3 screwed or riveted to another upper bar 4.
The curved sheet 1 is wedged between these two flat bars.
For the formwork, the curved sheet 1 must close (Figure 2) and to help it in this movement, the spring leaves 16, for example three in number, are screwed inside the tube (pins 2 and 6).
In order to suspend the cylinder formed by the curved sheet in the concreting position, a wedge 5 usually made of teak is introduced between the two lips.
The sheet is wedged by rods 6 which pass right through the wedge 5 are provided with a handle or lever 7 and carry a plate 8 which in the service position occupies the position shown in FIG. 4 but is brought into a position offset by 90 when retreating
In these places, the teak wedge is cut to allow movement of the wedge 8 (reference 9, freeze 5).
A éorou 10 ensures the wedging of the lever 6-7 against a plate 11 provided at the upper part of this lever.
U irons 12 are fixed perpendicularly to the upper part of the teak wedge, which rest on one side on concrete 13 and on the other side on any external formwork 14.
To ensure proper clamping of the lips 2 against the teak wedge 5 between the clamping levers, small upturned U irons 15 are wedged on the lips.
The formwork tubes are connected by means of a curved sheet 17 which is introduced inside the formwork tubes.
On the curved sheet 17 engages a flat sheet 18 cut along a circle 19 with at the upper part a cutout 20 corresponding to the shape of the plates 3.
The sheet is folded laterally in a U as shown at 21 (fig 8).
On the other side a hook 22 is fixed to the tube 1 to allow the attachment of a stripping cable and a tube end 23 provided with a cover 24 engages in the shuttering sheet.
In order to obtain a rectilinear alignment of the formwork, the starting teak block and the end block have a length equal to half of the formwork tube; intermediate elements have the same length as that of the tube.
The advantages of the formwork thus produced can be summarized as follows: a) obtaining a retractable, rigid and undeformable formwork which can be removed quickly and easily; b) perfect regularity in the shape of the gutter; c) perfect alignment of both the upper slot and the bottom of the channel; d) easy and quick handling of the formwork; e) easier vibration of the concrete
