Removable beam The present invention relates to a removable beam, characterized by the fact that it is constituted by two parallel bars engaged in at least two collars and between which are clamped at least two uprights placed respectively in each of the housings formed between said bars by the collars, and in that it comprises means for preventing the longitudinal displacement of one of the bars relative to the other.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal elevational view of the first embodiment; fig. 2 is a section on I-I of FIG. 1; fig. 3 is an enlarged view along II-II of FIG. 1; fig. 4 is a longitudinal elevational view of the second embodiment; fig. 5 is a longitudinal view of a large beam according to the second embodiment.
The beam shown in Figs. 1 to 3 is constituted by two parallel wooden bars 1, the ends of which are engaged in two collars 2 of rectangular shape, each formed by a flat iron folded and closed by welding or by means of rivets.
Between the bars 1 are placed two uprights 3 arranged respectively in each of the housings formed between said bars 1 by the collars 2. The uprights 3 are made of wood and are each clamped against the bars 1 by means of two wedges 4 held in place by means of nails not shown.
On the middle part of the bars 1 is engaged a collar 5 intended to prevent said bars 1 from deforming under the support exerted by a trestle 6 having two movable arms 7 formed by two metal cylinders disposed obliquely between the bars 1 so in forming an angle, the apex of which bears against one of the bars 1, the ends of the sides of said angle bearing against the other bar 1. The arms 7 are each pierced with an orifice in which is engaged a rod 8 of which one end is threaded and screwed into an internal thread formed in a stop 9 formed by a metal cylinder bearing against the wall of one of the arms 7.
The other end of the rod 8 is provided with a head 10 pierced with a transverse orifice 11. A stop 12, formed by a metal cylinder pierced with a transverse orifice, is engaged on the rod .8, between the head 10 and arm 7, and serves as a support for the latter. The beam shown is assembled as follows. The bars 1 are engaged in the collars 2 and 5 and an upright 3 is inserted into each of the collars 2 which is clamped by means of the wedges 4. The easel 6 is then placed between the bars 1 , and the head 10 of the rod 8 is rotated so as to screw the latter into the stop 9.
For this purpose, one can engage in the orifice 11 of the head 10 any rod to have more grip on said head 10. By screwing the rod 8 into the stop 9, the spaced ends of the arms 7 are brought together, which causes the clamping of the bridge 6 between the bars 1.
When the trestle 6 is firmly clamped between the bars 1, it acts as a spacer and, while increasing the resistance of the beam, it prevents the bars 1 from moving longitudinally relative to each other. After use, the beam can be quickly disassembled for transport and storage in a small volume.
Beams of different dimensions are provided to suit the use to be made of them. For this purpose, we can increase the number of collars 2 and uprights 3 and, depending on the desired resistance, we can also use two or more chevaets 6.
It is planned to execute the collars 2 in metal section and the arms 7 of the trestle 6 can be made by means of tubes or metal sections.
In addition, the construction of a beam is envisaged in which the bars 1 and the uprights 3 are made of metal. According to a second embodiment, shown in FIG. 4, the beam is made in the same way as before, but the trestle 6 is replaced by a trestle 13 whose arms 14 are made of wood and are clamped between the bars 1 by means of two wedges 15 held in place by means of nails not shown.
